NEW RELEASES / WEBSTORE CLOSING / TOURS / MORE!

Two emails in one week! If you missed Tuesday's email, I'm thrilled to announce that both the NIGHT BIRDS "The Other Side of Darkness" LP/CD and the BRAIN F≠ "Sleep Rough" LP are finally in stock and shipping! Anyone who has placed an order will be happy to know that I am ALL caught up on mailorder - as of yesterday all NIGHT BIRDS preorders and BRAIN F≠ orders have been shipped.  Aside from these new releases (which you need to order if you haven't yet), I have a small but awesome webstore update with some new records and a bunch of restocks, but first ...

WEBSTORE "CLOSING" Sept 19th through October 9th

Any orders placed in the webstore after SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 18 WILL NOT BE SHIPPED until the week of October 10th.  As I mentioned, I will be on tour in Europe with NIGHT BIRDS (see dates below) ... the webstore will still be up and running and feel free to order as many records as you'd like, please just keep in mind that nothing is shipping until I return home next month.  However, I WILL ship any order placed this weekend so don't let that stop you from ordering now, if you buy anything by sunday night (EST) your order will be in the mail before I leave!

I will be shipping a good amount of the new releases out to my distributors this week, so hopefully you'll see these LPs pop into your favorite store or distro by the end of the month if you aren't in the mailorder mood. Also the Brain F≠ is currently available through SORRY STATE RECORDS (who co-released the LP) and he has colored vinyl as well so if you simply can't wait for the Brain F≠ LP, feel free to order from Daniel while I'm gone.

NEW IN THE WEBSTORE 9/16/11

BRAIN F≠ "SLEEP ROUGH" LP (GRAVE049)
The first two singles from North Carolina's Brain F≠ left a lot of people scratching their heads: Is it garage? Is it hardcore? (It's definitely punk.) How did they write such catchy riffs? How do you pronounce "F≠?" Brain F≠'s debut long player, Sleep Rough, will force you to ponder those same questions and may breed even more (and we mean that in the best way possible). Everything has been amped up for this release... the hard stuff is harder, the catchy stuff is catchier (oh, is it catchy!), and the weird stuff is weirder. There's no need for band comparisons, but if you're into that sort of thing then imagine the SAINTS' minds in TEENGENERATE and the AVENGERS' bodies sent to a dystopian future. Really, though, this sounds like the year 2011; if you like huge guitars, endless vocal hooks, and a turbo-charged rhythm section (you do), then you need to hear this record. Split release with SORRY STATE RECORDS.

NIGHT BIRDS "THE OTHER SIDE OF DARKNESS" LP/CD (GRAVE050)
At long last, the debut LP from NY/NJ's own NIGHT BIRDS is finally upon us!  Following three well received 7" EPs, "The Other Side of Darkness" takes you on on a non-stop demented thrill ride with thirteen raging blasts of high-octane surf-inspired punk that the band has become known for.  NIGHT BIRDS have pulled out all of the stops on this long player; honing their hardcore/punk/surf/garage hybrid sound to near perfection, delivering each and every song with urgent and unmistakable precision.  With underlying themes of isolation, paranoia, depression, visions of total annihilation, and more horror/b-movie nods and references than you can count, "The Other Side of Darkness" is the ultimate soundtrack to that post-apocalyptic nightmare that you just can't seem to wake up from.

SOCIAL CIRCKLE "EXPIRATION DATE" 7" (SIDE TWO)
5 tracks of intense early 80's hardcore mixed with late 70's punk from all around the globe. More anger and speed than previous releases, SOCIAL CIRCKLE manages to exit on their most manic note while still maintaining the melody and catchy hooks of their 'Static Eyes' 7". Think ripping hardcore with songs you can actually remember. The follow up to 2009's 'City Shock' LP (No Way Records) this ep is the band's final offering.

KIELTOLAKI "KUOLEVA SYSTEEMI" 7" (FERAL WARD)
"Brand new, 4-song EP released for this Finnish band's recent US tour. Kieltolaki's previous LP was one of my favorite records of last year, and this EP picks up right where that monster left off. The production here is huge, taking the template established by Discharge's Why? album and making it bigger, louder, faster, and more complex. More importantly, though, this thing is just brimming with anger... I think these guys may be the most pissed-sounding band in hardcore today. Fucking ripping." - sorrystaterecords.com

WARHEAD "THE WORLD OF CONFUSION" 7" (FERAL WARD)
"After a break of seven years since their 2004 split EP with ORDER and an unbelievable twenty years since their classic "Cry Of Truth" debut EP Kyoto's WARHEAD are back with a new two song 7" of pure Japanese hardcore insanity co-released by La Vida Es Un Mus, Feral Ward and HG Fact. This release sees the Kyoto legends teaming up with Jacky from FRAMTID / GLOOM for two songs of blazing hardcore with manic screaming vocals, blown out distorted guitar riffs and frantic guitar solos. Both songs are equally as amazing as each other and I would struggle to pick a favourite. Totally fucking top notch hardcore up there with Japanese hardcore legends like BASTARD, GAUZE, DEATHSIDE etc. I can't recommend this enough. WARHEAD are one of best hardcore bands in Japan right now." - agitatezine.blogspot.com

CONDOMINIUM "WARM HOME" LP (CONDOMINIUM)
Condominium's first 12" release after 7"s on Fashionable Idiots continues to take a stroll down the path of stranger punk rock, sounding like three hardcore kids who got into '90s AmRep Records stuff as well as Flipper and Black Flag and spit it out in six songs of noisy, grimy and slightly experimental punk rock. 7 tracks / 22 minutes of the tense, noisy sounds we have come to expect from this St Paul, MN band. The boundaries of hardcore music continue to be challenged and the walls continue to crumble under the pressure.

CITIZENS PATROL "S/T" LP (SORRY STATE)
After two blistering 7"s on the mighty No Way Records, Holland's Citizens Patrol finally bless us with their debut full-length. If you expected they would change at all for this release, then you will be sorely disappointed. If you expected they will still play the same band of ripping, early 80s-inspired hardcore they've always played, then you will be extremely pleased. This time around the band delivers a slightly more powerful recording and some of their absolute catchiest ragers yet.

KYLMA SOTA "10 TRACKS" LP (FERAL WARD)
This is basically the perfect d-beat record of 2010. Avoiding the clichés of raw-sloppy-crust mess that's all too popular these days, KYLMÄ SOTA take cues from DISCLOSE but still sounds crisp and precise. Distortion aplenty that never gets in the way of song writing and execution. To top it all off, they throw in a cover of "if tomorrow don't comes" from the criminally underrated EVANCE, adding their own twist by singing it in Finnish.

SHOPPERS "SILVER YEAR" LP (FEEBLE MINDS)
Debut full length from SHOPPERS. Syracuse, NY ‘indie’ influenced noise punk. A mix of new and old from the band’s first year of existence: rerecorded takes from the ‘Goodbye to all that.’ and ‘You shot me... ’ cassettes as well as brand new anthems to kick start your personal sexual revolution. This is a split release with Drugged Conscience.

CHOSEN FEW "THE JOKES ON US" LP (GOING UNDERGROUND)
Official reissue of THE classic Aussie-Punk smasher , pressed on a 45rpm 12" for maximum volume. For those unfamiliar this is First Wave PUNK from 1978. The tracks have not been remixed so they sound just as killer , if not better than the original 7".

NO FUNERAL "6 SONG EP" 12" (WANDS)
In a town where the midsummer days reach into the triple digits and the debris of the dejected pollute the state of evolution comes the most recent addition to the blackened cult of Wands. No Funeral’s music is riddled with anger and disgust for this plane of existence. The vocals are belted out of the depths of a self-defeating depressive urgency, a calling for death in its most vengeful form. There is an obvious harkening back to the more punk aesthetics of their forefathers that is ever present in the bass and drum approach that crashes head long into the mournful tremolo of the guitars. This is the overlooked harsh reality of the neglected souls that wade waist deep in the stomach of the beast.

HUNGER PAINS "S/T" 7" (FEEBLE MINDS)
Vinyl debut from Assault City's metallic crust 'core HUNGER PAINS. Features guitar work akin to classic metal-tinged Japanese hardcore coupled with the thunderous rhythm of 90's vegan crust, all backed with thickly layered dissonance courtesy of front-man Weston Czerkies' solo noise project SUNKEN CHEEK. This is a split release with PRGNT Records.

SHITDOGS, THE "THE HISTORY OF CHEESE" 2x7" (LAST LAUGH)
Right here we have a double single by a Louisiana bar punk trailer trash assault from the early 80's. The Shit Dogs (aptly named) peddle smut and smashed guitars with a crewd sound. There's a Ramones style flavor, definitely could see Dee Dee loving this band, as well as Floridian's The Eat in on the undertaking. 2x7 inches made for spinning over and over again, thanks to Last Laugh Records.

RED CROSS "RICH BRAT" 7" (FANCLUB)
Rare reissue of 1979-82 crude punk gems!

WE THE PEOPLE "TURN OFF YOUR CRYING GUN" 7" (HOTLINE)
60s Garage 45-We The People - Turn Off Your Crying Gun / My Brother The Man - Very limited reissue with printed black & white picture sleeve. "Crying Gun"' is UNAVAILABLE on ANY We The People compilation CD or LP, great 1966 unreleased garage with look a like Hotline labels.

HUSKER DU "LAND SPEED RECORD" LP (SST)
Land Speed Record fully exposes the rage and manic energy that drove Hüsker Dü to dizzying heights of creative and critical success; it's an incredible document of a live Minneapolis show from 1981 featuring the band in its embryonic form. Bob Mould and company seem bent on driving themselves to the brink of insanity as they plow through the performance with all the subtlety of a freight train out of control.

GORIES, THE "HOUSE ROCKIN" LP (CRYPT)
The Gories are an American garage rock trio that formed in Detroit in 1986. They were among the first 1980s garage punk bands to incorporate overt blues influences. The band features Mick Collins (of The Dirtbombs), Dan Kroha (of The Demolition Doll Rods) on guitar and vocals, and Peggy O'Neill on drums.  House Rockin is considered to be "The Gories best record; a triumph of feeling, grit, reverberation and style. The record was famously recorded in a tin shack and has the raw feeling tha everyone tries
to imitate but few can. Dan went on to do Dollrods while Mick formed the Dirtbombs, both are great but neither comes close to the true transcendent glory of this particular Gories record."

RADIO BIRDMAN "RADIOS APPEAR" LP (4 MEN WITH BEARDS)
Originally released in 1977, Radios Appear is the debut album from one of most important Australian bands of all time. Though they are often lumped in with the punk-rock sound of their contemporaries in London and New York, they actually owe more to the earlier sounds of Detroit, specifically the Stooges and the MC5. Their debut is a scorching piece of snotty rock and roll unparalleled in their country or beyond. Reissued here on 180g vinyl with a deluxe tip-on jacket and insert.

REZILLOS "CAN'T STAND THE REZILLOS" LP (RHINO)
The Rezillos 1978 punk classic Can't Stand the Rezillos was the Glasgow band's only studio album, reaching the Top 10 on the UK album chart. It's all here: hyperactive tempos, raging guitars, abbreviated pop melodies and slightly off-kilter lyrics that display a fascination with junk culture and '60s pop.

13TH FLOOR ELEVATORS "PSYCHADELIC SOUNDS (MONO)" LP (SUNDAZED)
For the first time in 40 years, here it is in dangerously powerful MONO, exactly as it was intended: the stupefying debut album by Texas’ heroic psychedelic point-men, the 13th Floor Elevators, on Sundazed’s uncannily accurate high-definition vinyl! The unearthly banshee howl of Roky Erickson, the blistering guitar of Stacy Sutherland and the demented electric jug of Tommy Hall haven’t sounded this scary since their glory days in the third eye of the lysergic hurricane!

KILLED BY DEATH VOL. 6 - V/A - COMP LP (REDRUM)
Punk rock ground zero, 'nuf said. Issued by Australians & one of the few volumes that doesn't concentrate on Americans: Jap, Swiss, Austrian, Belgian, Italian, Scottish, & Finnish heavy hitters. Also a few detours to places like Ohio & Colorado, just cause. Tracklisting: Kids-This is Rock n Roll, Funeral Dress-Army Life, Dirt Shit-Exit, Next-Monotony, Insults-Just a Doper, Ed Nasty & the Dopeds-You Sucker, Hitler SS-Slave, Tampax-UFO Dictator, Revenge 88-Neon Lights, Screaming Urge-Homework, Schund-Schund, GISM-Exclamations, Frantix-My Dad's a Fuckin Alcoholic, Glueams-Mental, Paykik Volts-Totally Useless, Fire Exit-Time Wall, Mark Truth & the Liars-Prisoners of Time, So-Meilla Voisi Tunaau Olla Hauskaa.

KILLED BY DEATH VOL. 7 - V/A - COMP LP (REDRUM)
Compiled by the makers of the 'Bloodstains Across...' series. Poke at the guy who compiled KBD 5 & 6, featuring records from his personal want list. Danish, Swiss, SF, North Carolina, Scottish, Canadian, NY, French, Italian, & Texan punkers. Tracklisting: Village Pistols-Big Money, Fire Exit-Time Wall, Rude Norton-Tits on the Beach, Chain Gang-My Fly, Guilty Razors-I Don't Wanna Be Rich, Ed Nasty & the Dopeds-I'm Gonna Be Everything, Tampax-UFO Dictator, Absentees-Tryin To Mess With Me, Dot Vaeth Group-Armed Robbery, Cigarettes-They're Back Again, Lost Kids-Cola Freaks, Fresh Color-The Source, Hated-Seize the Middle East, Maids-Back to Bataan, DDT-I'm Walking Down the Psychopath, Sperma-Bomb, Ice Nine-Out Out Out, MD-Manisch Depressiv.

KILLED BY DEATH VOL. 8.5 - V/A- COMP LP (REDRUM)
"KILLED BY DEATH Volume 8.5 – still stands as one of my 2-3 favorites of KBD Wave 2. It contains some of the big boys of punk rock lore, starting with the fast and angry “I Rock I Ran” by Louisiana’s TOXIN III. There’s the classy, tasteful “S&M” by PUBLIC DISTURBANCE, which is this strange cross between Dickies-like carnival punk and ultra-snotty punk/oi filth a la some of those UK acts with giant eye-gouging mohawks who roamed the era. Other classics that belong in any dabbler’s or obsessive’s collection: the gonzo & raw “Twinkie Madness” by THE COSMETICS; the hardcore-tempo fuzz-out “Killed In Jail” by the LATIN DOGS; and of course the deadly lo-fi piledriver “Killer Cain” by the mighty SHIT DOGS, a band made known to me by the LAZY COWGIRLS long before the term “KBD” turned into a household catchphrase and dating scene pick-up line. Only clunkers like THE MATCHHEADS and the TURNBUCKLES keep this volume from breathing the rarified air of Volumes #1-4, but that may be some internalized shock-of-the-new nostalgia talkin’. This is one of the ones you gotta have, and one the kids’ll be coming back to for millennia." - agonyshorthand.blogspot.com

KILLED BY DEATH VOL. 9 - V/A - COMP LP (REDRUM)
Prime era punk electrocuters, and for my money the best volume in the series. Plenty of snot but also cruder than usual, in no small part because there are so many songs by stoopid, stuporiffic Indiana kids like the Panics, Jetsons & Eddie Flower's Gizmos. If the scent of Pabst is your perfume, your needed mental wallpaper is right here. Tracklisting: Tapeworm-Break My Face, Tapeworm-Blues for An Insurance Salesman, Crap Detectors-Police State, Corpsicles-Big Doings, Panics-I Wanna Kill My Mom, Nothing-Uniformz, Epicycle-You're Not Gonna Get It, Accident-Kill the Bee Gees, Jetsons-Suicidal Tendencies, Hammer Damage-Laugh, Shirkers-Drunk & Disorderly, Vains-School Jerks, Gizmos-Amerika First, La Peste-Better Off Dead, Sado Nation-On Whom They Beat, Ex Blank Ex-You're Full of Shit, Breakouts-In Vagueness Deal, Ice Nine-Revolting Mess.

KILLED BY DEATH VOL. 10 - V/A COMP LP (REDRUM)
3rd all-American volume, except that it somehow also includes some Canadians. That's okay, Americans will eat anything, and I'm sure Canadians are included. Most brutal cuts here are courtesy of Boston's Unnatural Axe, Phoenix's Red Squares, Louisville's Endtables. Beatles cover by Sick & the Lame is, as you might imagine, useful in many, many contexts. Tracklisting: Vomit Pigs-Useless Eater, Tragics-Laughing Lover, Descendants-Unnational Anthem, 63 Monroe-Hijack Victim, Executives-Jet Set, Grim Klone Band-Heat's Rising, Grim Klone Band-Jevovah's Witness, Cringe-Spit on Your Grave, Voodoo Idols-We Dig Nixon, Red Squares-Time Change, Gentlemen of Horror-God Knows You By Name, Normals-Almost Ready, Discords-Dead Cubans, Trend-Band Aid, Count Vertigo-X Patriots, Unnatural Axe-The Creeper, Skinnies-Out of Order, Endtables-Circumciscion, Sick & the Lame-Ate Days a Week.

TWO NEW GRAVE MISTAKE RELEASES OUT NOW!

BRAIN F≠ "Sleep Rough" LP and NIGHT BIRDS "The Other Side of Darkness" LP/CD OUT TODAY!

Well, you've been hearing about both of these releases for the better part of the summer, and today is a glorious day because both records are FINALLY available! Two debut LPs from two of my favorite bands going today ... I'm extremely excited with how both of these releases turned out and I think you will be as well.  Both releases are now available for order the GRAVE MISTAKE WEBSTORE:

Of course, as you have probably noticed, we've been running NIGHT BIRDS preorders for the past few weeks.  You'll be happy to hear that the preorders have begun shipping, I hope to have them all in the mail by the end of the week! Thanks to everyone who preordered for your support and your patience,  hopefully the wait wasn't too painful and I can assure you that it was definitely worth it.  Also, might as well let the cat out of the bag - we did up a couple hundred silver and black hand numbered silkscreened covers as the "limited version" ... our friend Aaron at Absent Printing here in Richmond did a wonderful job and we think you will be just as pleased. Those will be mailed out on a first come / first served basis (I had 125 available, the band had copies for their preorders as well) so if you got your order in within the first day, chances are you'll get one in your mailbox.  I'm going to keep some of the package deals and special prices up through the weekend, so take advantage of those while you can!

The BRAIN F≠ "Sleep Rough" LP is also in house and ready to ship ... we didn't trouble ourselves with preorders on this release so no waiting required on this one. There are 227 copies on a nice, translucent Seafoam Green vinyl for mailorder ... both myself and SORRY STATE RECORDS (who co-released the LP) have color available in our respective webstores. Pick your poison. This LP is phenomenal - if you picked up either of the singles from earlier this year and were digging them, then you should definitely grab this LP because they went above and beyond on this release for sure and the full length definitely shows growth and maturity, while maintaing all of the similar elements that made those first two releases so memorable.  Hell, even if you weren't completely sold with the singles, then this full length will most definitely make you see the light so pick it up!

While we didn't exactly hit the mark with a store/retail "street date," expect to see these pop up in your favorite stores and distros hopefully within the next several weeks! For all of our European friends, the NIGHT BIRDS LP will be pressed by TAKEN BY SURPRISE (just in time for their tour, see below), and the BRAIN F≠ LP will be pressed in the UK on the one and only STATIC SHOCK RECORDS (expect that version in October).

If you're just now coming out from beneath that rock you've been living under this year and both bands are completely foreign to you, please check out the descriptions below or even listen to some tracks from the records at the GRAVE MISTAKE BANDCAMP PAGE and see if that sparks your interest (it probably will)! Both records are also streaming on Spotify, and are available digitally on iTunes and other digital retailers.

Finally, before I wrap things up ... I will be on tour with NIGHT BIRDS from Sept 20th through October 10th (See dates below).  In that time the webstore will be up and running, but NO ORDERS WILL SHIP until I get back. I'm going to try my hardest to ship out everything placed through Sunday, September 18th ... but anything ordered from the 19th on will most likely be held until I get home. I should be available by email most of the tour so if you have questions about an order, trade, wholesale, promos, or anything else, drop me a line at gravemistakerecords@gmail.com and I'll reply as soon as I can.

Thanks for reading! Now order some records!!!

HUGE WEBSTORE UPDATE FOR 8.31.2011!!!

End of summer update! This summer has been pretty productive, thanks to everyone that has ordered some records over the past few months - as always it's greatly appreciated! It's been a bit hectic over here as we try and get the next two releases (NIGHT BIRDS and BRAIN F≠ LPs!) ready, but there's always time for another distro update!  I've accumulated a LOT of new stuff for the distro over the past month since the last update, so hopefully you'll find some killer records worth picking up.

Before I get to that, just a reminder that the NIGHT BIRDS "The Other Side of Darkness" LP has been up for preorder for the past few weeks. Thanks to EVERYONE who has ordered a copy so far. We are still on schedule to have the vinyl in about 2 weeks, so once that comes in we are going to be assembling, packing and shipping around the clock to make sure all orders get out ASAP.  Speaking of preorders, I have a bunch of cool NIGHT BIRDS package deals to save you a few bucks in case you needed to pick up any of their other releases along with the new LP.  While we will continue to have these preorders up until the record is here and shipping, please keep in mind that today is the last day to order if you want to be entered in the Test Press contest. In case you missed it, I'm giving away TWO copies of the LP test pressing randomly ... all you have to do is preorder the new LP in some shape or form by the end of the day to be eligible to win a test press.

You can check all of the Night Birds Preorders HERE:

Expect a more detailed Label update hopefully this week, but for now let's get to the distro stuff...

Tons of new 7"s and singles too including the new 7" from US/JAPANESE collabo SMASH DETOX, two singles from THE OUTDOORSMEN, the newest COLA FREAKS and SHITTY LIMITS singles, NERVESKADE/PERDITION split 7", brand new LOST BOYS 7", two EPs from OBN IIIs, the brand new BORED STRAIGHT 7", the debut 7" single from Richmond's newest, SLUGZ , a handful of limited singles from LEATHER BAR RECORDS (INSERVIBLES, THE SLEAZE, BURNING ITCH, and more), a couple of EXTORTION 7"s, a repress of the FUCKED UP / HAYMAKER split 7", and a bunch more!

NEW FOR 8/31/11:

NIGHT FEVER "NEW BLOOD" LP (TANKCRIMES/NO WAY)
Yup, notorious k-townsters Night Fever have finally released their debut 12" after spreading havoc for some time. Muscular, pissed off, confident, defiant and macho-esque hardcore to the nines. Think early 80s Boston HC fornicating with Zero Boys, Poison Idea and Void. In fact first time I've heard this I was thinking of a more cockrock-ish and slickly produced Void.  The 8 tracks possess aggression, speed and melody, amazing guitar shredding from Matthias, and Salomon's impressive voice that Danzig would kill for. First pressing w/ silkscreened cover limited to only 300 copies!!!

ARCTIC FLOWERS "REVERIES" LP (INOMICAL)
Debut 12" from this Portland band who have more of a post-punk / anarcho sound than most of the crusty bands that city is known for. This is absolutely ripping stuff... it has that melancholy Wipers vibe that Portland is known for, and when you combine the big, melodic guitars with the anarch-sounding, tom-heavy drums and the Crass-like lady vocalist you get some pretty damn unique and powerful. Apparently this one is VERY limited too, so you'd best act now as there probably won't be a restock.

TOTAL CONTROL "HENGE BEAT" LP (IRON LUNG)
The combination of all their previous work and a steady live band has come together to form the great Henge Beat LP. Beautifully housed in a bright European-art-designed gatefold sleeve. These guys have outdone themselves with this one. Musically it rests somewhere between late 70's UK new wave a-la Ha Ha Ha era ULTRAVOX and the "now sound" EDDY CURRENT SUPPRESSION RING Aussie garage that we all know and love. Add a dash of hopeful Krautrock flavor and the recipe is a smashing success.

POISON PLANET "UGLY TRUTHS VOL 1" (CTW)
'Ugly Truths vol 1' compiles the 'Oblivious' and 'Undermine' EP's onto one 12" and adds another 4 songs for good measure. The LP comes in a 12"x24" fold over jacket and is accompanied by an 8 page lyric booklet with new art and essays not included in the original EP's. The combination of additional songs, art, and commentary hopefully make it worth owning even if you already own the EP's.

NOISE ORDINANCE - V/A MRR COMPILATION LP (MRR)
This brand new Bay Area comp features some of the most exciting and dangerous sounds of the local scene over the past few years, including MORPHEME, NEEDLES, RANK/XEROX, NN, SHOTWELL, BLACK RAINBOW, SURRENDER, CONQUEST FOR DEATH, ACEPHALIX, AIRFIX KITS, RULETA RUSA, FACE THE RAIL, ECOLI, MIGRAINE, YEAR ONE, LOVE SONGS, SUICIDE BOMB, HUNX AND HIS PUNX, ACTS OF SEDITION, FIX MY HEAD, I WILL KILL YOU FUCKER, DUCK AND COVER, and the FLESHIES. And (of course) it comes with a newsprint zine-sized insert with a page from each band and some killer Bay Area punk photo spreads from local photographers.

WAX MUSEUMS "ZOO FULL OF RAMONES" LP (TIC TAC TOTALLY)
Billy’s Room, TX. Peering across the floor through beer cans, garbage and vomit-encrusted B-movie clamshells...something moves. You slowly look into a shaking cheeseburger bag...AND THE WAX MUSEUMS EMERGE TO CLAW YOUR NOSE OFF! It lands on a rotting hamburger. You die. They've crafted the sickest spectacle of partying, sharp humor, and Steinberger basses since they crawled out of a VCR in 2006. And if you've had an eyeball (Yes? No?!)...you've seen them. But do not dismay if you've missed any of their out-of-print wax previously issued on Hozac, Douchemaster, Kenrock, Rehab or Fashionable Idiots. Because here's the entire carnivorous monkey-house in one 24-track LP...Zoo Full Of Ramones! Our scientists at TTT have recreated the very primordial ooze of the band. Returning to print every dose of concentrated hyperactivity, and enhancing them with an extra beaker of UNRELEASED, and rare material, circa 2006-2008 AD

USELESS EATERS "DAILY COMMUTE" LP (TIC TAC TOTALLY)
”Oozing with sleaze, anger, and hooks (what could be more beautiful than that?!), this first proper album from Useless Eaters captures completely tape-fried 70's punk beauty by joining the musicality of the Stranglers and the Adverts with the snot-nose antics of the Lewd or Vomit Pigs. With the proximity effect of the Memphis scene circa 2003-2007. Compared to earlier output, Daily Commute has a beefier sound, though still culled from the same manic recording style. Content-wise, this is the direct result of being stranded abroad, weirded out and pissed off while readjusting from the sudden death of bandmate JAY REATARD. Hands down the most complete sounding and best assembled of SETH SUTTON’s output yet. Previous singles on Shattered, Goner, Goodbye Boozy and more. Highly recommended to anyone constantly blasting their KBD faves or UK D.I.Y. weirdo shit...this is a nice 'lil gem mined from those parts!”

USELESS EATERS "CHEAP TALK - THE SINGLES" LP (TIC TAC TOTALLY)
"Cheap Talk is that shit you know to expect from USELESS EATERS. Here are fifteen tracks selected from SETH’s killer string of out of print 7-inches, plus four unreleased songs, exclusive to this LP. If you don't know you really betta axe somebody. Look for a brand new Useless Eaters LP due out on TTT later this spring!” Previous singles released by Jay Reatard's Shattered Records, Italy's Goodbye Boozy, Goner and others.

BURNING ITCH "ST" LP (TIC TAC TOTALLY)
Three dudes from Knoxville, TN where the GG Allin runs like the shits and the water is tainted with moonshine piss. Burning Itch are pure, unadulterated punk rock inspired as much by getting fucked up as they are by obscure, KBD-private-press vinyl. S/T is their first LP and does not disappoint...so long as you WANTED a payoff on the promise of their "machine-gun-toting" self-released 7", and the subsequent ragers on both Goodbye Boozy and Leather Bar. Yessir, the boys n girls with a hankering to get drunk to some loud, completely unpretentious punk rock ought to get their rocks off on this bad boy just fine. Recommended pairing: goes great with shooting fireworks off the Smokey Mountains at college students.

TEST PATTERNS "BLACKOUT" LP (TIC TAC TOTALLY)
Rapid-fire power-pop/punk from Pittsburgh fusing ‘70s punk and hardcore with sticky bubblegum goo. Think early Registrators, Teengenerate, Raspberries, Nerves, Big Star, Teenage Head, Nikki and the Corvettes etc. DAN (RADIOBEATS, ROT SHIT) and YAGO (GITO GITO HUSTLER) split male/female vocals and combine dual guitar layers for more sweet ‘n’ sharp little candy fragments than a lollipop busted on your head. Solid bass/drums tie up all the sweetness in focused aggression. Packaged with a poster and insert.

YOUNG OFFENDERS / GIANT HAYSTACKS "SPLIT" LP (625)
The now-defunct Giant Haystacks were a Bay Area band that played an art-punk style that brings to mind bands like Wire, Minutemen or Gang Of Four, while Young Offenders take a more melodic approach, taking cues from The Wipers and Really Red.

HYGIENE "PUBLIC SECTOR" LP (LA VIDA ES UN MUS)
On their debut album Public Sector, Hygiene take the listener on a post-pub stagger through the concrete walkways and underpasses of Britain's decline.   Daydreaming at their offices on a weekday or at home with their record collection on a Saturday night, the members of Hygiene are dislocated in both time and space.  Their LP has one DM boot in the past and the other longwing brogue firmly up the backside of the present.  Public Sector hearkens back to a time of Polytechnic radicalism, Special Patrol Group repression and O Level temptresses yet evades the pitfalls of vapid historicity and pastiche.  Hygiene see historical continuities and follow them to their logical conclusions, reducing their influences down to their essential constituent elements and reassembling them into now music for now people.  Flouting Rockist conventions with equal doses of stark minimalism and plodding fury, these post-punks resolutely refuse the "post" prefix.

BIG EYES "HARD LIFE" LP (DON GIOVANNI)
Debut full length from BIG EYES!  "Big Eyes has that don’t-mess-with-me pop-punk sound reminiscent of ‘80s, Joan-Jett style punk. A trio consisting of a female vocalist/guitarist, bass player and drummer, Big Eyes captures that female teenage-angst sound, without sounding too…well, teenage-angsty. Hard Life isn’t too in-your-face; the music isn’t abrasive, and the lyrics aren’t threatening. It does, however, encompass a certain blunt attitude. Song titles like “Your Lies,” “Pretend to Care,” “I Know You’re Wrong” and “Joke’s On You” are reflective of the overall tone of the album as far as the lyrics go. Not all of the songs focus on love gone wrong, though. The final track of the album, “Tired All The Time,” is exactly what it sounds like: “Wake up every morning feeling tired/ Just wasting my day trying to get wired/ But I just feel sick/ Sick and tired” — a feeling to which most everyone can surely relate. There aren’t many negative comments to make about Hard Life. It’s a worthwhile listen, perfect for those nights you just need to dance alone in your room." - stereosubversion.com

RIVETHEAD "THE CHEAP WINE OF YOUTH" LP (RECESS)
As the pound-for-pound contender against the primest of the prime Queers or Screeching Weasel. Sad, tuneful, poignant, songs about blowing up banks and then kissing, east-bound double stacks, and the Midwest.  Members went on to start or fill out rosters of bands including BANNER PILOT, OFF WITH THEIR HEADS, and DEAR LANDLORD. A must have for any fans of those bands or that style.

RATIONAL ANIMALS "BOCK ROCK PARADE" LP (KATORGA)
"A true heavy metal band" from Rochester, NY, Rational Animals have exceeded even our overly-generous expectations with their debut LP, Bock Rock Parade. The band made a name for itself on its first two 7"s with its modern stylings on late-era Black Flag and general Greg Ginn-worship, but it's clear that the band has come a long way from that point. Incorporating a wide variety of newer influences into its already atypical hardcore blueprint, the band has developed and progressed its sound into something absolutely fresh and essential.

RIPPER "INTO OBLIVION" LP (BLACKWATER)
10 tracks of driving metal punk madness! all the energy of motorhead with the punk hooks that made all the new wave of british heavy metal bands so great. driving bass lines, unrelenting drums, and ripping guitar solos throughout the entire album! it's a wonder how these guys (and girl) managed to become Portland, OR's very own heavy metal punk heroes.  Comes packaged in a gatefold jacket with lyrics on a printed inner sleeve. Artwork throughout being drawn by the infamous Halseycaust.

LOBOTOMIA "NADAE COMO PARECE" LP (BLACKWATER)
Re-issue of this brazilian thrash punk masterpiece! 8 raging tracks of top notch punk metal crossover in the vein of ratos de porao and D.R.I. with a bit more of a hardcore edge and some awesome cover artwork!  One of the greatest bands of the hardcore scene in Brazil, they started in 1984 as a raw hardcore band in the vein of the UK 82 generation, and then going to a more thrash metal direction, doing the crossover style. They appeared in the Ataque Sonoro compilation of 1985 along with a few other comps. and have two LP’s, released in the 80’s, Lobotomia in 1986 and this Nada É Como Parece (stands for "nothing is like it seems") in 1989.  Re-issued in it's original format with additional english translations on the inner sleeve.

LEOPARDS, THE "KANSAS CITY SLICKERS" LP (SING SING)
By 1977, the year of Kansas City Slickers’ release, most bands had happily ensconced themselves in one niche or another--one was either Punk or Power Pop or New Wave or ---- (fill in the trend of your choice), but The Leopards fell into no such handy category. Kansas City Slickers was unique for its time--certainly no other record of its day sounds remotely like it--and remains so today. Back then its uniqueness baffled critics who, in the few places where the album was actually reviewed, did little more than point to the album’s Kinks influence. While the influence of The Kinks, The Beach Boys, The Easybeats and other Sixties groups is indeed evident on the album, such a superficial assessment does not begin to do justice to the cornucopia of sound on Kansas City Slickers. Herein rock n’ roll meets ragtime, old  Hollywood musicals and other forms of early 20th Century American music, a delightfully original melange you will not taste elsewhere. Recorded and mixed at Moon Studios--ie, the basement of Dennis Pash’s parents’ house on Maggie Lane in Kansas City, Kansas--the production and muscianship reaches a level of sophistication not often associated with basement recordings. Even so,  protected by lack of technology from slick by-the-rote machinations of the professional studio, Kansas City Slickers retains its basement charm. When Dennis Pash and Kevin Sanders first decided to release privately pressed records as The Leopards in 1975 it was quite a revolutionary strategy, the DIY ethos of punk still a few years in the future.  The world would simply have to catch up at some point in time. Judging by the appreciative audience Kansas City Slickers has grown over the years--this despite its exceeding rarity (only 1,000 copies of the album were pressed)--that time may very well be now.

CLAP "HAVE YOU REACHED YET?" LP (SING SING)
Like most followers of rare seventies rock esoterica I first heard about HAVE YOU REACHED YET? via the pages of the now-legendary BOMP fanzine. It was the surf issue if I recall correctly, and editor Greg Shaw, in the course of a pretty positive review, mentioned Clap's ability to mix up what seemed like a healthy late-sixties punk rock attitude with the prevailing hard rock winds of the early-seventies from whence this album came. The album was a charm with the hefty Rolling Stones influences so common of the day being reshaped by a strong Shadows of Knight snarl all filtered through an early seventies heavy metal consciousness giving us...a sound and style that although part and parcel to the stoner seventies mentality had a totally unique and refreshing approach that sounded as if it could stand on its own not only in 1972 but 1966 or even 1987 for that matter. It was teenage rock & roll that continued to sound so long after the entire teen mystique of the sixties and seventies shriveled away, yet it was hard enough for even the most experienced pothead at the supermarket to roll joints to during his coffee break.  So for you youngsters here's an example of what "do it yourself" rock used to mean when you pretty much had to create your own fun, energies, and lives even from scratch and for your oldsters, now's the time to drag out the boas, the mascara and the nylons and re-live the post-Vietnam era the right way. Of course if you get arrested don't come complain' to me, but then again wouldn't that only add to the overall glam/slam effect so common during those rather peculiar times?

PREACHERS, THE "MOANIN'" LP (DIONYSUS)
Here is the entire output of The Preachers (and their later incarnation, JOHN ENGLISH & THE LEMONDROPS). This LA area '60s punk band is best known for their scoarching version of Bo Diddley's "Who Do You Love?" which appeared on an early volume of Pebbles. The band had the total punkish sound, lyrics and image. They even wore preacher suits -- pretty brave for 1965! This pounding slab of '60s insanity finally gives justice to one of the toughest sounding garage bands to come out of Los Angeles.

COCK SPARRER "SHOCK TROOPS" LP (PIRATES PRESS)
"Shock Troops" is the debut album by punk rock band Cock Sparrer released in 1982 on Razor Records. Now available through Pirates Press Records, this pinnacle record is something that should be available and affordable to everyone looking to invest in some punk roots. These uncoated jackets are top notch and the mastering for vinyl has this sounding better than it ever has. Third pressing now available on 180 gram, black and green "camouflage" vinyl and limited to 1,000 copies.

RIPCORD "DISCOGRAPHY PART II" LP (SKULD)
Influenced by brutal US bands like Siege, Negative Approach, and Infest, Ripcord managed to create a sound of their own by melting together this sound with their UK roots and were among the best bands that came from this fucking island called Great Britain in the late 80's. This is the 2nd part of their discography containing the best songs from the Harvest Hardcore 7" plus their best but last LP.

URBAN WASTE "S/T" LP (MAD AT THE WORLD)
A re-issue of the sole EP by one of the most sought after and enigmatic bands from the earliest days of New York hardcore. Despite the obscurity of the original release, Urban Waste was made famous through their signature style of blown-out, over the top hardcore punk replete with trademark menacing buzzsaw guitars and piercing vocals. This is an official release. Now available again on vinyl. 12"ep includes free MP3 download of the entire album.

WEEKEND NACHOS "WORTHLESS" LP (DEEP SIX)
On the new LP, the band display some of the most technical, thrashing moments of unadulterated powerviolence, as well as the thickest, most crushing riffs heard from them yet. What makes them even better is the schizophrenic weaving of these two styles that the group so swiftly pulls off. Songs like "Frostbitten" demonstrate this with perfection, transitioning unexpectedly from ominous guitar chugs into a fast array of d-beats and a mix of high-pitched screams and classic Weekend Nachos vocals

WEEKEND NACHOS "UNFORGIVABLE" LP (DEEP SIX)
Weekend Nachos feature members of Harms Way and are once again mixing the powerviolence of Infest and Crossed Out with burly metallic guitars and masterful riffage, totaling twelve tracks on "Unforgivable."

EXTORTION "DEGENERATE" LP (DEEP SIX)
This is it! The best EXTORTION record! Their first full length, finally available again through DEEP SIX RECORDS. This is a masterpiece of modern powerviolence and in my opinion on of the best Australian hardcore LPs of all time. Don't miss out on it this time round! Absolutely Essential!

EXTORTION "SICK" LP (DEEP SIX)
Extortion once again set out to make ears bleed with 15 tracks of pure powerviolence that worships at the altar of bands like Crossed Out, Neanderthal and Infest. Their songs whip up into a frenzy of blast beats and growls and slow down into agonizing sludge bits.

ELECTRIC FUNERAL "D-BEAT NOISE ATTACK/MAKE A CHANGE" LP (SHOGUN)
More noisy d-beat for your post-apocalyptic, disease-ridden ears. Electric Funeral, who had a few earlier 7"s that are also kicking around the distro, play straight-up, non-gimmicky Discharage-inspired d-beat. I'm pretty sure these guys are trying to make everyone a little less sad that Kawakami from Disclose is no longer with us, as this LP is just about the closest thing to Disclose I've ever heard in my life. Beastly stuff, and I personally always prefer this style in the 12" format.

APPARATUS "HARDCORE RELIGION" LP (SHOGUN)
12 song album including a Disarm (Swe) cover. There's been a long tradition of good, yet obscure bands in Malaysia. Bands like OPPOSITION PARTY took inspiration from Japanese, Finn and Swedish scenes. Here we are with APPÄRATUS: same influences, raw, dark and heavy sound, and songs about being a loser with a brain

NASA SPACE UNIVERSE "ACROSS THE WOUNDED GALAXIES" LP (SHOGUN)
Debut 12" from this Southern California band who are obviously heavily inspired by Die Kreuzen. They have a lot of aspects of DK's sound totally down... the awkward rhythms, the way the bass carries the riff while the guitarist just plays on the three thinnest strings, and of course the demented vocals, which remind me a lot of very early Die Kreuzen. However, despite all of this obvious influence, NSU actually sound really unique... maybe because they're Californians in 2011 and not midwesterners in the early 80s? A fucking ripping LP... you can't get better than this if you're looking for spastic, confusing hardcore.

IRON LUNG "LIFE.IRON LUNG.DEATH" LP (PRANK)
Finally repressed. PRANK and 625 teamed up to re-release IRON LUNG's classic first LP! 700 pressed on colored vinyl. This two-man band been deemed fastcore, grindcore, power-violence, hardcore and numerous other 'tags' that indicate ferocity and speed.

SMASH DETOX "S/T" 7" (PRANK)
A remarkable cross border collaboration, SMASH DETOX is ISHIYA (FORWARD), SOUICHI (FORWARD), MUKAI ( JUDGEMENT), ZAC ( WORLD BURNS TO DEATH,) IIZAWA ( TETSU AREI ) and ANDREA.Two powerful songs - "Shanguri-La" and " Like water" that take elements of the intense hardcore sounds of each of their classic Japanese and American Hardcore bands, but combined to a new and unique whole. Created with intense focus and effort, this recalls many of the classic definitive HG FACT two track EP's that defined the Tokyo punk sound of the late 90's and early 00's, but also has the unmistakable mark of Texas Powerhouse hardcore.  Initially recorded and mixed at Toyko's OUR HOUSE studio, Guest Vocal by JACK CONTROL (WORLD BURNS TO DEATH).

COLA FREAKS "FARVEL" 7" (LOCAL CROSS)
Farvel hits the sweet spot between the bands earlier playfulness and more recent intensity. Jumpy music for twitchy people. The b-side is a cover of the Avengers "Car Crash", a long time staple of the Cola Freaks live set.

SHITTY LIMITS "LAST ORDERS" 7" (LA VIDA ES LIN MUS)
THE SHITTY LIMITS return with their first new material in 9 months on this two track released on time for Record Store Day.  Written and self recorded in late march 2010 then released less than three weeks later - it's the perfect punk rock statement that DIY works.  'Last orders' is a stylish garage stomper whilst on the flip is 'Selling point' - a straight ahead one minute and 45 seconds of punk rock no nonsense. Limited to just 394 copies and hand stamped.

NERVESKADE/PERDITION "SPLIT" 7" (DISTORT REALITY)
Nerveskade from Portland, OR plays something like the early u.k. thrash bands a la Ripcord with a touch of the Japanese noise punk scene and a power drill to the skull!  Perdition plays explosive blown out hardcore punk songs.  Thay are from New York City and are raw punk noise addicts.

SLUGZ "SUIT AND TIE" 7" (FEEL IT)
Debut three song single of rapid fire punk from these Richmond rocknrollers. This revved up tuneage will appeal to fans of The Chiefs, Teengenerate, and Social Circkle. What else is there to say? These slugs are one of the most exciting bands in Richmond at the moment, no holds barred.

OUTDOORSMEN "DRUNK DRIVING" 7" (DAGGERMAN)
Hawaii 's power garage trio turned SF rejects, brings us their 2 latest cuts. "Drunk Driving" a slow burning, insanely catchy tune backed with "Dead Meat, a real punk scorcher. Songs mastered by James Flames.

OUTDOORSMEN "YOU ME AND ROCKNROLL" 7" (DAGGERMAN)
A four song seven-inch from San Francisco's reigning kings of 'don't give a fuck' garage-punk. This outing leans on the poppier side of their songbook and has some recent crowd favorites.

OBN III'S "MARK ON YOU" 7" (TIC TAC TOTALLY)
”‘Mark On You’ shifts gears to the dark side of an OBN IIIs curveball. It's still got a rock ‘n’ roll center, snot for miles, and of course the balls-out delivery service. But this one conjures a sadistic presence that pushes down HARD on OBN IIIs' vehicle, forcing eruptions of black smoke from the tune. It comes off something like Mentally Ill's ‘Gacy's Place’ doing its thing waaaaay over on the ‘rock’ end of punk rock. Anyway, this song will make your turntable smell like battery acid, blood, and beer after a couple spins. The other B-side (double B-side, bitch!), ‘Heavy Heart,’ is the rager though. With an upbeat, simple wallop, it's reminiscent of a drunken, Texas-tinged Ivy Green. Which keeps coming up as often as these dudes club me over the head lately. Much more in-line with their other output so far, and a perfect compliment to the other B-side."

OBN III'S "S/T" 7" (TIC TAC TOTALLY)
“OBN IIIs are a 5-piece from Austin, TX and SHIT MOTHERFUCKERS. We’re talking all out rock attack. Total ‘fuck you’ attitude and hard rock vernacular. Don’t let that ‘5-piece’ tag fool ya buddy…there’s no ‘orchestrating symphonies’ here. These two guitars double-deep-fry the beaten rhythms, all propelling front-man ORVILLE from BAD SPORTS into raucous action to serve your ass the real deal. These 4 songs here come from their first recording session to make up this here debut platter. ‘Runnin On Fumes’ opens it up with its mid-paced pounding, setting the tone for the entire guitar-driven aesthetic throughout. Next up, ‘Do My Thing’ absolutely lays out the ballsack on everyone’s chin and whaps you with a dick in the head. This scorcher has all the attitude you could ask of any rock record. Seriously. The flip starts with ‘Mad’ which is equally primal as fuck, tight, loud, and banging the whole way under Orville’s simple but killer proclamation of ‘MAAAAAD!’ And rounding out the slab, OBN’s close with ‘License Plate,’ which sees a cool sheen of Ramonesy chorusing over this melodic banger of a tune. This is great shit. 500 pressed and housed in a nice glue-pocket sleeve.”

UNWED TEENAGE MOTHERS, THE "IF THAT'S LOVE" 7" (TIC TAC TOTALLY)
Debut 45 is pregnant with four songs from THE UNWED TEENAGE MOTHERSs, who share members of LOVER! and BASS DRUM OF DEATH. This record bounces between a nice 'n sweetened-up "hollow-guitar" sounding Ramonesy pop (à la First Base) and the supercharged jolts of the Marked Men. What makes these guys resonate is the knack for hitting on some genius-grade stupidity while also slipping you some "relationship blues" while yer bobbing along.

LOST BOYS "GUEULES PERIMEES" 7" (ROCK BOTTOM)
4 new tunes from this very prolific Punk Hardcore band from France. Still dealing with the same Hardcore California sound from the early 80's. Great! - burnoutzine.net

CITIZENS ARREST "A LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS" 7" (OFF THE DISK/DEAD END)
CITIZENS ARREST were a hardcore band that formed in New York and existed from 1988-1990. They played a bunch of shows at legendary punk venues like CBGBs and ABC No Rio. Considered to be a seminal New York hardcore band by many, their short-lived reign exists within a demo, a 7", some comp tracks, and a full-length album. Heavily influenced by S.O.A., NEGATIVE FX, and SIEGE, this record amalgamates gruff vocals with extremely raw, fast hardcore. This limited, handnumbered edition (600) comes with outstanding, fullcolor gatefold cover and the two songs off of the "Look At All The Children Now" compilation! All the songs were remastered!

NO COMMENT "COMMON SENSELESS" 7" (DEEP SIX)
Finally repressed.  One of No Comment's earliest recordings, this 7" from 1989 features nine tracks of fast, tight hardcore that helped lay the foundation for the powerviolence scene in Southern California. It features one track that was omitted from the discography..  Classic.

NO COMMENT "DOWNSIDED" 7" (DEEP SIX)
Finally repressed.  In the late ‘80s and early ‘90s brutality core was being born with Southern California contributing Crossed Out, Infest, and No Comment.  No Comment played fast and hard with songs about the cesspool of human existence, animal rights, and other ills of life on planet Earth.

HAMMER DAMAGE "LAUGH" 7" (LAST LAUGH)
"Just incredible! Laugh = 3:14 and I don’t want it to stop. Total killer punk complete with loud guitars and snotty vocals. Listen to the background guitar how it builds up from a low chugga chugga on one string up till the chorus. And the Ha! Ha! Ha! parts oh my… The solo works too. It’s a complete dorky rock solo but fuck me if it dosen’t blend in perfect. Automatic Lips ain’t as bad as it’s reputation. A little quirky powerpop song that suits me just fine. Actually I think Automatic Lips is great. Give it some spins."

THE INCREDIBLE KIDDA BAND "EVERYBODY KNOWS" 7" (LAST LAUGH)
Kidda band's first single originally released in 1978. UK punk fueled pop. Everbody Knows/ No Nerve

SPIV "OH YOU BEAUTIFUL CHILD" 7" (PYE)
Oh You Beautiful Child is a great example of the perfect Glam Cruncher with its slap-back compressed handclaps, cutting lead, catchy hook and exuberant vocals, it's up there with the best. Little Child starts off like Dear Prudence but then turns into this Radio Birdman/ New Christ styled rocker with the vocalist sounding uncannily like Rob Younger! The single was produced and the A side written by Laurie Marshall - the same guy who was behind Grudge's When Christine Comes Around/ I’m Gonna Smash Your Face In, Paul St. John (The Flying Saucers Have Landed) and Weeny Bopper (David, Donny And Michael). - http://www.scrammagazine.com

GRUDGE "WHEN CHRISTINE COMES AROUND" 7" (BLACK LABEL)
"If youve ever wondered what Joey Levine might sound like if he was a jilted psychopath, this may be the answer. “Im Gonna Smash Your Face In” is the flip side of a rare 1973 single by the elusive Grudge. Preceded by the equally maniacal “When Christine Comes Around” (which could have very well been titled “Im Gonna Smash Her Face In”), the details of this hilariously creepy slice of bubblegum misogyny remain largely unknown. It is credited to “Laurie Marshall,” a pseudonym of Paul St. John (the same person behind junkshop glam staples such as “The Flying Saucers Have Landed” and Spivs “Oh You Beautiful Child”)." - Popshifter

SKINNIES, THE "KILL THE BEAT" 7" (LAST LAUGH)
(I'm a Dullard)/Out of Order. New Orleans punk more along the lines of the Normals than the Shitdogs or Contenders ie it's on the poppy side. The buzzzzing voice in the intro of “Out Of Order”, the sound of what sounds like a broken crash cymbal and the dubbed vocals makes this perfect.

REALLY RED "CROWD CONTROL" 7" (FANCLUB)
"Here’s Texas Really Reds debute 7inch from 1979. One of the few bands that manage the transition from a great punk rock band to an equally great HC band. Loud guitars and a tight hi hat upfront in the mix makes this irresistible."

BORED STRAIGHT "LOCKED UP" 7" (DATA CONTROL)
The sadly final release from Milwaukee's Bored Straight. With Nicolai moving to Duluth MN, the band was orig just going to be a long distance, every now and again band but now its been put down altogether. A shame really since 'Tinnitus' was a great record and this one is very similar to that if not a tad better? You be the judge. Fast, semi noisy but still mainly straight forward burn midwestern style. They still remind me of a Milwaukee take on early Ecoli perhaps,, and Milwaukee bands DO have their own sound, I swear by that remark! I am also reminded of a modern day Koro meets Geopopel with this band's sound now and I am sure my man Eric wouldn't disagree with that.

FUCKED UP/HAYMAKER "SPLIT" 7" (DEEP SIX)
Fast, violent, and Canadian. Haymaker play fast hardcore while Fucked Up play a combination of mid-tempo growling vocals ala Negative Approach and driving rhythm like Adolescents/Germs.

EXTORTION "CONTROL" 7" (DEEP SIX)
Finally available again through DEEP SIX RECORDS after being out of print for a couple of years. One of the best EXTORTION 7"s, and probably the release that put them on the map for a lot of people. Essential stuff. Modern powerviolence. Australia's finest.

EXTORTION/AGENTS OF ABHORRENCE "SPLIT" 7" (DEEP SIX)
Australia's EXTORTION and AGENTS OF ABHORRENCE team up on this brutal piece of vinyl. AGENTS OF ABHORRENCE offer up more of their frantic, discordant and all around brutal grind/fastcore, while EXTORTION offer some blistering hardcore tracks that will turn into a sickening sludgy crawl without warning. All fans of hardcore and speedcore in the vein of INFEST, SIEGE, MUNICIPAL WASTE, D.R.I. and LACK OF INTEREST will love this splatter!

INSERVIBLES "CUAL ES TU PEDO NERO?" 7" (LEATHER BAR)
3rd 7" from this Mexican punk band and this time they cram three noise-punk blasts onto one side of an EP. This is seriously warped stuff, really lo-fi, sort of like Darkthrone if they had been even more into Discharge. These guys are getting a lot of hype right now, and deservedly so... this is some seriously warped hardcore punk.

THE SLEAZE "CRUSH" 7" (LEATHER BAR)
After a debut single on Fashionable Idiots, these Minneapolis teenagers hit us with a new one-sided 7" with two more tracks of scrappy, raw, and incredibly straightforward garage punk. The music is all energy with a killer vocalist who sounds like he sucked down about 8 helium balloons before hitting the mic. Ripping!

ANDERS THODE "EMMA ECKSTEIN'S NOSE JOB" 7" (LEATHER BAR)
Anders Thode is the bass player for the mighty Cola Freaks, and on this one-sided 7" he gives us two tracks of dark, new wave-ish punk that's not unlike the later (awesome) Cola Freaks stuff, albeit MUCH more lo-fi and with what sounds like a drum machine. If you like quirky, atmospheric, yet incredibly catchy punk you'll need to hear this, but brace your ears... this one is noisy!

CHINESE BURNS "ROHYPNOL" 7" (LEATHER BAR)
One-sided 7" from this Australian garage-punk band who are very much in the vein of Eddy Current Suppression Ring, the Ooga Boogas, and other killer Aussie punk combos. On this slab they deliver a stomping, 4-minute exploration of repetition and catchiness... if you dig ECSR you're bound to like this as well. Excellent stuff.

BURNING ITCH "ME, MYSELF & I" 7" (LEATHER BAR)
One side, one song, one man. Knoxville's Ian Lawrence plays with himself on this burned out loser anthem. Burning Itch brings to mind those great early punk bands who didn't have those great early punk bands to base their sound on, and made it all up on their own. 300 pressed.

TELECOMMANDE "PANIQUE DEVANT L'ECRAN" 7" (LEATHER BAR)
Two French mopo's rocking out with a drum machine, tough guitars and synthesizers. If the Ramones had been French... 300 pressed.

REARRANGED "S/T" 7" (REACT!)
The debut EP on REACT! Records of Moscow's powerhouse Rearranged picks up right where they left off on their previous release, always showcasing the band’s musical and lyrical growth. Drawing influences from classic DC and Orange County-based acts, the follow up of their full-length 'New Forms' delivers five brand new songs of speedy and intense hardcore punk that sometime resemble Minor Threat and Insted, yet managing to attain a character all its own. Recorded and engineered by Mikhail Gabolaev at PravdaPro Studio and mixed by Gustav Brunn at Studio Bengt in Lund, this release proves to be the bands most mature and cohesive work to date. Art duties handled by Ulf Hammarkärr of The Effort fanzine fame. Here you can listen to two new songs, 'Disengage Now' and 'Drilling'. Pre-orders for the new record are already up at the REACT! Records webstore.

PRAISE "2 SONGS" 7" (REACT!)
On their second 7", Praise offers up more melodic hardcore that brings to mind some of the classic late-'80s bands that "progressed," such as Tom Capone-era Bold, "Rebuilding" comp-era Turning Point, or "Trial"-era Verbal Assault. 7" includes digital download.

SPASTIC PANTHERS / TEENAGE RAMPAGE - SPLIT 7" (HANDSOME DAN)
Spastic Panthers, featuring members of Sheglank'd Shoulders, offer four songs of caffeine-fueled, smart-ass, street rock-influenced hardcore, with frequent comparisons to The Freeze being a decent starting point. Teenage Rampage might just be Canada's answer to Tear it Up or Government Warning. Their side contains five songs, all of which absolutely shred, featuring tons of hooks buried under the angriest of intentions. A great introduction to one of North America's most underrated punk scenes.

PLEXI 3 "CALCULATED ROMANCE" 7" (DUSTY MEDICAL)
SPECIAL FAREWELL REISSUE!!! Sadly, PLEXI 3 have broken everyone's heart for real this time, and are calling it quits. ADAM is heading West and RYAN is getting out from behind the drumkit and up front with WENDY, sharing guitar/vocals/bass duties in the new kickass band RAMMA LAMMA (with Joel from The Jet Set). For the last Plexi 3 show at the Dusty Medical Records 5th Anniversary Party, the label made up 100 more of their debut 7-inch from back in 2007, with some on peach, some on clear, and all with a new cover design by ADAM WIDENER.

THE BUZZ "INSANITY" 7" (SING SING)
A very rare and increasingly collectable piece of plastic issued in March '79 on the Redball label in an edition of 1,000 copies, this EP features three under-produced two-chorders, recorded by a Shrewsbury-based outfit formed in early 1978 by Nic Evans (v/gtr), Cob Hillers aka Chris Hill (gtr/v), Gym Slips aka Jim Phillips (b/v) and TwoFourty Volts aka Kevin Higgs (d/v). The killer track is SICK AT HEART with its great Buzzcockian riff and TVPs-like 'ooooh'-chorus. Recommended. A different line-up of The Buzz – Kevin Higgs was replaced by Ian R. Davies, Chris Hill moved to bass and lead vocalist Chris Bellingham was recruited – would enter Foel Studios in July 1981 recording the album ASYLUM, self-released in a pressing of 1,000 copies a couple of months later.

BRAD LONG "LOVE ME AGAIN" 7" (SING SING)
In and out of unrecorded regional combos since the late 1960's, Logansport, IN music store owner Brad Long issued this, his lone single, on his own Music Stand label in the summer of 1977. Featuring a warm, lo-fi basement pop sound with stylistic roots firmly grounded in the mid 60's, both 'Come to Me' and 'Love me Again'  evoke a hazy mood reminiscent of early Twilley. Also included with the release were a series of press releases, a section of which listed Long's heroes as Roger McGuinn, Paul Revere and the Raiders and Joe Meek. Greeted with positive reviews in the pages of ( Ballroom) Blitz and NY Rocker, Long later contributed a cover of the Rolling Stone's 'Tell Me' to the first VOXX ' Battle of the Garages' compilation.

THE MOONDOGS "HEADS I WIN" 7" (SING SING)
A very scarce 7" from a Liverpool-based group formed in 1976 by Ian Irvine (gtr/v), Patrick Colohan (gtr/v), Dave Gough (b/v) and Steve Plumber (d). After making their live debut in summer 1977 at the Hope St. Fringe Festival, The Moondogs built up a growing cult following with the incendiary renditions of Chuck Berry and Gene Vincent oldies. In 1978 Plumber was replaced by Tony Dolman and the new line-up record this single, produced by former Deaf School drummer Time Whittaker and issued in October 1979 on Rexette Records, and independent label created by Roger Earle, founder of Eric's Club. Pressed in an edition of 1,000 copies, the platter includes the Powerpoppy TWO'S A CROWD on the flip and the Freakbeat A-side HEADS I WIN, whose riff is similar to the Psyschodelic cult song MY FATHER'S NAME IS DAD by Fire. In 1980 The Moondogs changed moniker to The English, to avoid confusion with the other Moondogs, releasing one single for Albion Records (the A-side of which, HOORAY FOR THE ENGLISH, is a great Powerpop tune) before splitting. Dolman soon joined Lawnmower, a short-lived combo who included future Simply Red frontman Mick Hucknall.

THE ONION DOLLS "THE KIDS" 7" (SING SING)
The Onion Dolls, a four piece punk band from Belgium managed to release this lone 45 before changing their name to Crossfire and fully embracing the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal movement that was sweeping Europe in the early 1980's. Both tracks on this 45 are unsuppressed killers with shredding guitar lines giving up more than a hint of the NWOBHM influenced sound that was to come. Originally released in 1980 on the TWINKLE label in an edition of 1000 copies with a truly great picture sleeve this highly sought after single is one of Belgiums greatest Punk Rock gems.

LIQUID STONE "HERE COMES THE WEEKEND" 7" (SING SING)
From the small town of Buckingham, 60 miles north of London, Liquid Stone was a four piece band that was formed by Ronni, Mick and Muz in the mid Seventies . Various line-ups centred around the key member, Ronni Sunderland (vocals and rhythm guitar) and Mick Prod (backing vocals and lead guitar) but it reached the pinnicle of its career in May 1980 with Ian (Muz) Murray on Bass (also vocals) and Ian (Tanner) Tansley on drums . After supporting the UK Subs at 'Friars' in Aylesbury, the Subs were so impressed they asked Liquid Stone to accompany them on their 'Brand New Age' tour of the UK and in May 1980 the two bands toured the country playing to audiences from St Austell to Hull and culminating in a gig at the famous Rainbow Theatre in London. The band were well known for their energetic and professional performances. Always a crowd pleaser, Liquid Stone decided to cut their one and only single, 'Here Comes the Weekend' in 1979. All still teenagers at the time the band made their way North to Red Ball Studios in Market Drayton to lay down the tracks but it wasn't until 1981 that the single was formally released. This didn't stop the band topping the offical 'Oi!' charts in 1980 with a live recording of the tracks. Liquid Stone continued to rock clubs and venues around London for the next couple of years and all the members are still playing today.

SPIDERBAGS "HEY DELINQUENTS" 7" (DAGGERMAN)
Their first 7" and a follow-up to their LP on Birdman Records. Spider Bags began as a side-project for Dan McGee, the guitarist of the DC Snipers. Now they're a North Carolina based drunken shamble of a roots band with feet in the trashy garage and punk worlds. The flip side of this was produced by Camero Werewolf, the scum wiz behind Live Fast Die.

PHOTOBOOTH "DA MES TUS BESOS" 7" (DAGGERMAN)
First 7" from one of the best current Bay Area bands. Awesome garage-pop tunes that'll bounce around in your brain for days. Features former members of FM Knives and Mothballs.

HOMEOWNERS "LIGHT AND VISION" 7" (MARGIN MOUTH)
Four spot-on Bay Area musicians unite to produce '90s college rock inspired DIY punk perfection. Wicked guitar licks and immaculate male/female harmonies.

RAINBOW PERSON "TRADE. LABOR. VOCATION." 7" (MARGIN MOUTH)
Elegantly letter-pressed covers and chaotic, harsh music. No melodies, no hooks, no pleases, no thank yous. Unforgiving, destructive hate.

GOD EQUALS GENOCIDE/LIBYANS "SPLIT" 7" (MARGIN MOUTH)
Libyans destroy with fast female-fronted, catchy and spiteful hardcore. God Equals Genocide record in the same studio as Green Day and Stevie Nicks and still sound blown out and sloppy. Three songs from each band. Comes in a glued jacket and printed sleeve.

RAW NERVES "BURNT SKIN" 7" (INIMICAL)
Brand new 7" from this ripping Portland band. These guys did a lot of touring last summer, and if you saw them you know they play burly, no-nonsense hardcore in the vein of bands like Citizens Arrest, and this single picks up right where their old stuff left off. This is just basic, no-frills hardcore, but the riffs are well thought-out and the songs have a lot of meat to them. This is the kind of thing people will still be listening to in 10 years... awesome stuff.

NEVER AGAIN/IRON CLAD "SPLIT" 7" (CTW)
Hailing from south Wales, Ironclad play fast Right Brigade/Frostbite style hardcore and Never Again comes from London and play an even faster pissed off hardcore. With 3 tracks each, this was Never Again farewell recording.

V/A "BLOODSTAINS ACROSS PHILADELPHIA" LP (EAGLEBAUER ENTERPRISES)
Try not to let the name or cover fool you, what we have here is a brand NEW Philadelphia punk and hardcore compilation showcasing 24 bands that the city of Brotherly Love currenlty has to offer. In an age where the compilation has pretty much gone the way of the dinosaur, it's quite impressive to see not only a 24 song LP compilation, but an entirely regional one to boot. Great cover art in the tradition of the classic Bloodstains series, and a nice full size booklet featuring one page per band. If you were curious to see what's been going down in Philly these days, this is a good place to start!

BRAIN SLUG - 2011 DEMO TAPE
Brain Slug is NYHC meets BHC which "sounds like if YOT and Antidote got into a fight outside of a Celtic Frost show." For those who love DYS, Agnostic Front, SSD and Life's Blood.

Maximum Rocknroll #340, the September 2011 issue, hits the stands with an interview with — and Pushead-inspired cover by — French artist Ivan Brun. We have an enlightening interview with Algerian punk band DEMOKHRATIA discussing religion, punk, politics, and their exciting first tour. Noisy garage rocker GG KING gives us the low down about his new record. Noise-core punx STATE POISON from France talk about their Japanese tour and life as the cutest band in France. This issue also features squawks from bratty Canadian hardcore B-LINES, a discussion with Britain’s own KBD-style band THE LOVE TRIANGLE, raw, distorted Canadian punkers UNLEARN, a discussion with artist and longtime Slug and Lettuce illustrator Jeremy Hush from Hush Illustration, an intriguing excerpt contributed by Dave Ensminger about the Deaf Club — the late ‘70s  social club for the deaf that moonlighted as a punk club — and the last installment of a three-part series of the history of Czech punk. WEBSTORE UPDATE! New IMPALERS, DOUBLE NEGATIVE, DEAF MUTATIONS, and MORE!

Hello all ... happy August.  Roughly one month left of summer vacation, might as well make the most of it!  Unfortunately I'll be spending the rest of my summer indoors packing up records, but we can't all be as lucky.  Since I just did a full label update last week, let's just cut right to the good stuff ...

http://www.gravemistakerecords.com/catalog/products_new.php

LPS; a handful of great new releases from 540 RECORDS including 7"s from NERVESKADE, YOUNG IDENTITIES, JUST URBAIN, SLOWMOTIONS, and a 12" from ISTERISMO.

NEW IN THE WEBSTORE 8/1/11:

IMPALERS "S/T" 7" (TODO DESTRUIDO)
Five new track of blown out D-Beat HC from Austin, TX.   Impalers play in the vein of late Anti Cimex(Scandanavian Jawbreaker era) HC mixed with hints of Discharge, Motorhead and Celtic Frost.  Limited to 400 copies on textured paper/pocket sleeve.

DEAF MUTATIONS "CRASH THE CLUBS" 7" (STATIC SHOCK)
After almost two years in the making, the DEAF MUATIONS 7" is finally now available to order. DEAF MUTATIONS is the brainchild of Dave Brown (also of Career Suicide) and they play violent, hardcore punk that wouldn't sound out of place on the Master Tape comp. The recordings on this 7" were originally released in late 2008 as a very limited cassette that didn't really make it out of Toronto. So needless to say, we're pretty thrilled to put this out and hopefully help this recording get the attention it deserves. At the request of the band, this is a one-time pressing of 500 copies.

DOUBLE NEGATIVE "HARDCORE CONFUSION VOL 1" 7" (SORRY STATE)
Double Negative return with the first volume of their follow-up to the epic Daydreamnation LP, and they haven't slowed down one step. Continuing the progression displayed between their first and second LPs, the two songs on this 7" are harder, faster, and weirder than anything they've done before. "Writhe," in particular, is probably the best song they've written so far. Includes color vinyl, deluxe jackets with spot-gloss printing and digital download.

DOUBLE NEGATIVE "HARDCORE CONFUSION VOL 2" 7" (SORRY STATE)
The second in Double Negative's four-volume Hardcore Confusion 7" series finds the band blasting out two more certified riff monsters. For those of you who who like their mid-paced stompers like "Endless Disappointment" and "Stop Growing," these two songs might be your new favorites. Includes color vinyl, deluxe jackets with spot-gloss printing and digital download.

NERVESKADE "NOISE POLLUTION" 7" (540)
Originally released as a cassette, what we have here is a "covers only" 7" from Portland's raw noize heroes NERVESKADE doing their take on tracks by DISORDER, DISCHARGE, JERRY'S KIDS, and SSD. You know you need this.

YOUNG IDENTITIES "NEW TRENDS" 7" (540)
Another killer Australian punk reissue from 540, this time it's Young Identities' classic 2nd EP. This is absolutely brilliant, classic Aussie punk... if you like the Victims and other Murder Punk this is an absolute necessity. "The Young Identities EP's are standouts among the Savage/Shake releases, especially the New Trends EP. The band's line-up was mixed in with other band Brisbane bands who were, in turn, part of other groups. In other words, a history of the Young Identities is necessarily a history of a few other bands. The history below overlaps and repeats some of what can be found on the Just Urbain page albeit from a different perspective. I can certainly be counted among the "overseas overseers" who became interested in the early Brisbane punk scene several years ago. Without further ado, another history from the younger, snottier contingent of the no-scene Brisbane scene... " -breakmyface.com

JUST URBAIN "EVERYBODY LOVES" 7" (540)
540 Records hits us with another spot-on reissue of an Australian punk classic, this time it's a 1978 EP from Just Urbain. Originally released in a paltry edition of 200 copies, this is a suitable replacement for the original that you will never own. A little more bleak and depressing than some of their more rocked-out countrymen, these Just Urbain songs will definitely hit all the buttons of those of you who obsess after weird, quirky, first-generation KBD punk.

SLOWMOTIONS, THE "OPERATION ANAGRAM" 7" (540)
This new 7" is an absolute scorcher. The a-side in particular is a fucking bruiser... HARD, mid-paced punk with some really weird keyboards in the background and tough Japanese hardcore vocals. The b-side is more in line with their older, more pop-inflected material, but with some cool keyboards and lead guitar adding a bit of texture.

PUNX DONT DRINK - V/A - COMPILATION 7" (THIRD PARTY)
Finally back in print! This semi-notorious straight edge hardcore compilation features two songs each from the bands COKE BUST, BOILING OVER, POISON PLANET, and COLD SHOULDER.

ONE FOOT IN THE GRAVE "ST" 7" (THIRD PARTY)
From the ashes of Expired Youth comes the next chapter of Chicago straight edge... One Foot In The Grave. Chad, Shariq and Ryan are picking up where Expired Youth left off in helping to show that straight edge hardcore is still alive and well in the windy city, with a style similar to Youth Of Today and Floorpunch.

POISON PLANET "UNDERMINE" 7" (THIRD PARTY)
Poison Planet's second 7" continues where their first left off, with the Chicago, IL band offering up five tracks of politically motivated hardcore punk with a sound that nods to other recent Midwestern favorites like The Repos or Necros.

POISON PLANET "BLEED FOR ME" 7" (THIRD PARTY)
For their European tour earlier this summer, Third x Party pressed a limited edition Dead Kennedys tribute 7" that contains Bleed for Me and Nazi Punks Fuck Off. All 250 copies are on mixed vinyl and the cover/lyric sheet has all of the art and essays you should expect.

SORRY EXCUSE "LISTEN WITH PREJUDICE" 7" (THIRD PARTY)
Eight blistering tracks with the occasional yxc inspired breakdown from this KC, MO band. They just put out a new 7" on Lifeline a few months ago. My release just got reviewed in MRR/SF&L and got good reviews. Fold over cover with complete lyrics and the most X's you've ever seen on a cover - for better or for worse.

BAD BANANA "CRY ABOUT IT" 7" (PUZZLE PIECE)
With Cry About It, Bad Banana tame the frequencies of their demo without compromising any of its urgency. The Crutchfield sisters-- joined here by Kyle from Big Soda-- continue their '90s-inspired, stop-and-go pop punk. Songs of drunken friendship, whining, and so forth. For fans of Tiger Trap and answering-machine indie pop. Artwork by Jason Roy. Covers letterpressed at the Bow & Arrow Press in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This is a one-time pressing of 500 copies.

FOUR EYES "TOWARDS THE END OF COSMIC LONLINESS" 7" (PUZZLE PIECE)
Out of Boston, Massachusetts (Somerville to be exact), Four Eyes play emotionally raw indie rock in the vein of Dinosaur Jr. with a dose of twinkle in their riffage. This band got its start in the summer of 2009 as Nick, Dan, and Will obsessed over the second Teenage Cool Kids LP, though they didn't play their first show until November of that year. Four Eyes are approaching life as a seasoned band with Towards the End of Cosmic Loneliness, their second 7". Featuring members of Daniel Striped Tiger and Tussin.

NAKED RAYGUN "SINGLES SERIES VOL 3" 7" (RIOT FEST)
Chicago punk legends Naked Raygun release their third record in a 7íí single series, which collectively will spawn their first recorded full length in 20 years. The influential melodic punk rock band were a Chicago institution in the ë80s, releasing a handful of classic records before the band splintered in the early ë90s. A reunion show at 2006ís Riot Fest in Chicago, spurred on by drummer Eric Spicer, sold out a 4,000-seat venue and reignited the band for a reunion tour. Since then the band have talked about recording new material, but didnít get into the studio until this year.

WITHDRAWAL "FAITH, FLESH, & BLOOD" 7" (A389)
On the heels of their awesome 'Unknown Misery' 7", Withdrawal return with three brand new tracks (digital download has a fourth bonus track) of apocalyptic metal-core from these Canadian disciples of the Holy Terror Church Of Final Judgement! Fans of Ringworm, Catharsis and All Out War take note. Comes with a digital download card!!!

PENETRATION PANTHERS "PERPETUAL 80'S" 7" (A389)
DC Grave (Gehenna) and Shane BastardDemon (Devil/Gravehill) have a new band that is full on raw early 80's punk that sounds like a cross between early Black Flag and The Stooges. This 3 song ep is only a taste of what's to come with the band's upcoming full length. Limited to 500 copies ever.

WEEKEND NACHOS "BLACK EARTH" 7" (A389)
Brand new 7" by Chicago's crushing WEEKEND NACHOS. Features 4 songs, 2 of which are from their upcoming LP on Relapse/Deep 6 and 2 of which will be exclusive to this 7". Comes with digital download code.

PICK YOUR SIDE "SURVIVAL PRAYER" 7" (A389)
Pick Your Side is a new studio project band featuring Jeff Beckman of Haymaker/Left For Dead on vocals and Johnny Ibay of Fuck The Facts on guitar. Ten songs of lo-fi thrash/hardcore that will appeal to fans of both bands. 7" includes digital download.

GEHENNA "LAND OF SODOM II" 7"/CD (A389)
Originally released on an obscure label out of Canada (Hit The Deck Recs), only a small few copies of Gehenna's 'Land Of Sodom' 7" ever made it into anyone's hands. We're thrilled to announce that the 7" is finally available with a few improvements to the original recordings, re-visted as 'Land Of Sodom II'. Also included is a CD with the LOSII tracks are the previously unavailable on CD 'Upon The Gravehill' 12" tracks. Comes in a deluxe 7"/CD gatefold package with a 14"x14" poster insert. As per the band's request, this release does not include a digital download code. Please use a record player.

ANTI-SYSTEM "DEFENCE OF THE REALM EP" 7" (ANTISOCIETY)
Outstanding official re issue of this killer ep from Antisystem, a bit more metal than their first LP, this is still totally crushing mid/late 80's UK HC that rides the line between anarcho punk and crust core.

HURT UNIT "DEMO" 7"
Demo 7" from this fast hardcore band from Australia. Five songs and an intro, fast and pissed with a definite late 80's hardcore vibe ala Youth of Today.

ISTERISMO "TOKYO CRUSTIES" LP (540)
"New 12" from this Italian-loving Japanese band, released for their appearance at this year's Chaos in Tejas fest. I believe this is a discography-to-date type of deal, and it's certainly a heaping helping of powerful, Italian-influenced Japanese noise punk. I can't help but note that the Japanese are so much better at this style than anyone else... the energy level on this thing is just off the charts. Fucking intense." -sorrystaterecords.com

PUNCH "PUSH PULL" LP (ASSULT)
The Bay Area mosh-bringer unit known as PUNCH delivers their second LP - chock full of 1000mph pissedness with hammers-of-justice mosh-trocious breakdowns that can get even the the longest of the long-hairs starting the mower. A great combination of good people, intelligent and insightful lyrics, and fucking full-on pissed and fast hardcore. One of the best around. Gatefold cover and colored vinyl.

PUNCH "S/T" LP (ASSULT)
Busting out an LP's worth of thrashcore, San Francisco, CA's Punch rip through a high-speed attack with female vocals that varies in speed from blast beats to mosh parts with some youth crew influences thrown in, all with social and political lyrics. Every song is carried out with an intensity that is lacking in a lot of modern hardcore. The vocals are screamed with total rage, to the backing of a band that sound like they're playing their instruments as hard and fast as they possible can. If you like your hardcore really fast and hard, make sure to pick this up.

DARK AGES "CAN AMERICA SURVIVE" LP (SORRY STATE)
After a couple of great but under the radar 7"s, Kansas City's Dark Ages return with their first full-length and it is a hardcore monster. Eschewing the recent vogue for raw recordings, Dark Ages have nailed a crystal clear, precise sound in which all of the fascinating little nuances hit you with full force. While the pedal is always to the floor, it's the weird little parts--quirky touches that remind one of Die Kreuzen's first LP or H¸sker D¸ circa Everything Falls Apart--that really separate this band from the pack. I can think of no other band that captures the angry, alienated, and isolated sound of the midwest better than Dark Ages. Deluxe packaging, including heavyweight, tip-on style sleeves, a 24"x26" poster, and digital download.

WHATEVER BRAINS "ST" LP (SORRY STATE)
Without a doubt the most sonically adventurous release thus far on Sorry State, North Carolina's Whatever Brains use their previous 4 7"s as a launching pad into completely uncharted musical waters. While the foundation is still spazzy, weird garage punk, this time around Whatever Brains incorporate electronic beats, tons of synth, some quieter parts, and a few truly epic compositions. This album is so expansive that it probably has something for everyone, but fans of Total Control, early Pavement, prime-era Fall, and catchy garage punk in the Marked Men mold will probably be the ones in the front row banging their fists along. The packaging on this one is also particularly ambitious, including a full-color gatefold jacket, obi strip, 14-page newsprint booklet, and a download card with the LP and remastered versions of all four of the band's previous EPs.

MAKABERT FYND/GLOM DA! "SPLIT" LP (SORRY STATE)
Here's something a little different for Sorry State: a split 7" pairing two of the heaviest, most raging current crusty hardcore bands from Sweden. Makabert Fynd (who have released earlier records on Yellow Dog and Flat Black) play raw, straightforward hardcore in the tradition of old Swedish bands like Asocial and Avskum, but with huge, modern production. Of course these guys also boast Poffen of Totalit‰r as one of their vocalists, and fans of that band won't be disappointed. As for Glˆm Da!, they go for the throat in a similar fashion, but are perhaps even wilder and more unhinged. Whether you like the fast and raw old Swedish stuff or more metal-influenced k‰ng like Skitsystem and Disfear, this one will knock you on your ass. Includes gatefold jacket and digital download

ANTI-SYSTEM "NO LAUGHING MATTER" LP (ANTI-SOCIETY)
An official reissue of this very powerful and classic British anarcho-punk album from 1984, this collection of thundering, no-compromise tracks comes with a printed board innersleeve and a fat, 44-page booklet of interviews, lyrics, graphics, gig posters, band and scene bios, an Anti-System band family tree, tons of photos, clippings from vintage fanzines, lots of political, anti-authority and animal liberation info and much more, printed on heavy gloss stock.

YALTA HI LIFE - V/A - COMPILATION LP (POWER IT UP)
Finally re-pressed after many years of absence, this comp features some of the most raging and important bands from the Finnish hardcore scene of the '80s, including what many think to be the best Terveet Kadet songs, plus tracks from Kaaos, Varaus, Aparat and more.

PROPAGANDA HARDCORE '83 - V/A - COMP. LP (HOHNIE)
This comp. was released in 1983 by PROPAGANA RECORDS and contains the following crackers: KANSAN UUTISET, RIISTETYT, JAKKE & LATERI, ƒPƒRƒT, RATTUS, TAMPERE SS, PROTESTI, ALAMAAILMA, KUOLEMA, BASTARDS, HIC SYSTEEMI, FUCKING FINLAND, DESTRUCKTIONS, MARIONETTI, M.A.P., SEKUNDA, TAKUU & VARAUS. Total of 35 tracks of all-time classic Finnish Hardcore to the max.

TERVEET KADET "AARETON PROPAGANDA" LP (HOHNIE)
Discography of early material by this legendary Finnish 80's hardcore band. Features the "message" ep, Aareton Joulou ep, "Black God" LP and Halloween LP. All of it solid gold Finnish Hardcore.

EXTREME NOISE TERROR "HOLOCAUST IN YOUR HEAD" LP (FAREWELL)
Limited to 500 copies limited official re-release of the "Holocaust In Your Head" LP, which originaly came out in 1988 at "Head Erruption". It was re-recorded in 1991 and released at japanese label "Toys Factory". 1999 the LP based on the 1991 recordings was re-released by Distortion. On this re-release you get the original 1988 recordings remastered with a more raw and brutal sound. Includes the classics "Murder", "Bullshit Propaganda", "Another Nail In The Coffin", "Deceived"... actually the whole record is just a classic!!!
Import from Germany.

CRUCIFIX "DEHUMANIZATION" LP (CORPUS CHRISTI)
Finally back in print, one of the top ten US hardcore records of the 80's. Crucifix perfectly mix the early 80's hardcore sound with the drive and intensity of UK anarcho bands like Discharge and Varukers. On top of this they used the visual style of Crass or Discharge with the shocking images of war and man's inhumanity to man in a fold out poster sleeve.  The raw intensity of this record puts it up there with Discharge for sure. Hopefully Southern will be re issuing the rest of their back catalog too as titles like Antisect, Crass and Rudimentary Peni have been strangely out of print on vinyl for several years.

GEZA X "YOU GODDAM KIDS" LP (BACCHAUS)
Geza X has been an important fixture on the California punk/new wave scene for many years as a producer/writer/engineer for countless artists, from Josie Cotton to the Dead Kennedys. As an artist, however, he doesnít resemble most of those heís worked with at all: You Goddamn Kids! is delightful, off-the-wall, adventurous, complex and humorous. The studio pro uses sound effects and treated vocals to enhance his music, much of which might well appeal to fans of, say, the Residents. ñ Charles P. Lamey ñ Trouser Press This classic post Masque-era album is the unique work of former Deadbeats, Mommymen member and producer GEZA X with quite the cast of original Los Angeles punk scene luminaries as contributing musicians including Brendan Mullen, Paul Roessler, D.J. Bonebrake, Josie Cotton, Don Bolles and others! Utilizing the unique ìGezatoneî guitar with a screechy vocal style and warped sense of humor, this album delivers early ë80s classics such as ìWe Need More Powerî and ìIsotope Soapî as heard on the ìLet Them Eat Jellybeansî and ìRodney On The Roqî compilations.

CHRISTIAN DEATH "ONLY THEATER OF PAIN 25TH ANV." LP (FRONTIER)
The founding fathers of American goth-rock, Christian Death released their debut, Only Theatre of Pain, on Frontier Records in March 1982, and that landmark album has had an enormous influence on goth, death-rock, dark-wave, metal and even industrial music scenes all over the world, shaping the approach of more bands than can be counted.  Led by vocalist and founder Rozz Williams, the Christian Death of Only Theatre of Pain included guitarist Rikk Agnew, fresh out of The Adolescents, bassist James McGearty, drummer George Belanger and backing vocals from Superheroines leader (and Rozz's future wife), Eva O as well as performance artist Ron Athey.  It was this line-up, with its dirgy, effects-laden guitar riffs and ambient horror-soundtrack synths, that crystalized the ominous post-punk sound that has established this album as the ultimate archetype of goth sensibility.  Genre touchstones include "Romeo's Distress," "Spiritual Cramp" and "Mysterium Iniquitatis."  This reissue features Rozz Williams's original hand-drawn art and calligraphy, and an additional period photo by Ed Colver, all set against a parchment-like background. Frontier has digitally remastered the audio for both the LP and CD, the latter containing the Deathwish EP as a bonus.

PULLING TEETH "FUNERARY" LP (A389)
Pulling Teeth's fourth album is their most definitive work by far. Their magnum opus, if you will. The two years that followed the release of Paranoid Delusions | Paradise Illusions was a time of personal turmoil for members of the band as they lost too many loved ones to the hands of the reaper, and Funerary is the culmination of the emotions dealt with during that period. This album finds the band revisiting the vitriolic rage expressed so vividly on Martyr Immortal as well as expanding on some of the more expressive and melancholic ideas found on their last album. While the lyrics touch on themes of our social character, a demand for truth, respect, and honesty, and reason to hold on to the last shreds of hope for a better world, the music ranges from pummeling thrash- and death- influenced metal to moody, doomy, dirgey soundscapes, all the while holding true to the spirit and energy of hardcore. This is Pulling Teeth at their finest.

RINGWORM "THE PROMISE" LP (A389)
One of the most important and influential records to come out of 90's metalcore let alone Cleveland hardcore. This is Ringworm at their most primative. Raw guitar tones, sloppy yet perfect drumming, and the unmistakable throat of the Human Furnace. Features the original artwork from 1993. This record is a must have!!! CD version available on Deathwish Inc

XIBALBA "ST" LP (A389)
The long awaited vinyl debut of California's XIBALBA. This LP complies all the tracks from their 'Madre Mia' CD as well as the songs from the 'Earthquake' Compilation all remasterd with new artwork by Linas Garsys. Crushing downtuned 90's style metalcore loaded with moshparts ala Disembodied meets Sepultura.

INTEGRITY "TO DIE FOR" 10" (A389)
The triumphant return of Integrity, the "To Die For" recording was a true reclamation of the throne for the band. Produced and engineered by Ben Schigel (Ringworm, Mushroomhead), the collection of eight blood boiling songs served as a musical progression, all the while embracing the approach of their influential past.

HUMANOIDS "ARE BORN" LP (ROCK BOTTOM)
"It seems only natural that a band with a name like the Humanoids would be capable of acting as a time machine back to the days when pop punk was best served in sweaty basements with a side of fast-paced and light hearted aggression. The Humanoids Are Dead is an 8 song EP filled with classic pop-punk melody and bursts of hardcore-style energy that is sure to surprise anyone who grew up with now veteran bands like the Descendents or Dag Nasty and inspire those who may not have been so lucky. It wont be hard for this young St. Louis five-piece to prove themselves among other Midwestern gems (and obvious influences) like Dillinger Four. The only flaw in this 14 minutes of songs worth adding to your soundtrack of growing up is that they leave the listening wanting more." -http://ihaterocknroll.blogspot.com

DISCHARGE "WAR IS HELL/DEMO '78" LP (UNREST)
Tracks 1-13 are studio and live songs with Rat (Varukers) on vocals. Tracks 14, 15 were taken from the 'Beginning of the End' 7". Also included are four unreleased tracks from the their first 1978 demo, recorded prior to Cal joining them.

KIDNAPPERS "NEON SIGNS" LP (RIP OFF)
Rip Off Records is here to kick off the New Year with a bang with THE KIDNAPPERS from Germany, and their incredible record, Neon Signs. THE KIDNAPPERS are one of hat country's best live bands, and with super catchy songs, they easily make new fans whenever they are in the house. Power pop with balls is the best way to describe THE KIDNAPPERS. Their debut on Alien Snatch Records a few years ago made believers, and the great news is that this album is better. That's right tards, Rip Off gets the better album. You see there are a whole heap of dog shit bands attempting to play power pop today, but only a few get it right. THE KIDNAPPERS are one of them. Listen to "Street Where I Live", or the incredible "I Hate Your Band". These songs borrow all the great elements from the legendary power pop bands, like THE PLIMSOULS, THE BEAT and THE RECORDS to name a few, but THE KIDNAPPERS do it without sounding like a generic copy. They sound like THE KIDNAPPERS. So remember the golden rule: If it's on Rip Off it's going to rule. Right sparky?

TENEMENT "NAPALM DREAM" CD (HANG UP)
After a slew of incredible 7"s and splits, we finally see the highly anticipated and long overdue (but well worth it) debut full length from Wisconsin's TENEMENT. This is easily making my top 10 list for the year (and I'm sure plenty of other people feel the same way), so pick it up and see what the hype is about! Hailing from Appleton, WI, Tenement play punk rock similar to the more melodic side of SST spliced with the early sound of the Twin Cities. A beautiful mix of Husker Du’s ferocity, Dinosaur Jr.’s guitar soloing and distortion, and The Replacements youthful energy, Tenement stand out in a modern-era by focusing on great and original songwriting that made these other aforementioned bands so special.

GOOD THROB DEMO 2011 TAPE
Demo 2011' culls nine brilliantly snotty songs of homegrown UK Punk at it's best. Good Throb spins the daily grind into bursts of impish scum-fuckery with songs about customer service, partying, admin work and being an animal. Lead singer Ellie delivers vocals with aggro yelps and snarls apace with rubbery bass, pulverizing drums and kinetic, catchy guitar arrangements. One of the most exciting UK Punk bands around and well worth your time!! Featuring members of SHITTY LIMITS.
