WEBSTORE UPDATE 11.19.10!

I hope everyone is enjoying their Fall so far ... mine has been pretty good. Got to tag along with NIGHT BIRDS down to The Fest, had a pretty sweet birthday, dressed like Harry Potter for Halloween, got to see MAN ... OR ASTROMAN, about to spend some quality time with my family next week for Thanksgiving, getting ready for the Holiday season ... fun times.  Once again, it's been longer than I was hoping for since the last update; good news is that there is a ton of new webstore stuff for you to check out! I'm going to save the label update for another day, a lot of new releases and news in the works right now so I'll probably have a separate update in early December. Anyways, I'm keeping this whole update short and sweet because I know your time is valuable!

GRAVE MISTAKE WEBSTORE: www.gravemistakerecords.com/catalog

A ton of killer stuff on this update ... new 12s from DIRECT CONTROL (highly recommended!), VAASKA (also highly recommended!!!), MERCHANDISE, INSUBORDINATES, THE QUEERS and more ... reissues from ADRENALIN OD, DAG NASTY, ARTIFICIAL PEACE, GOVERNMENT ISSUE, RAW POWER, and PEACE CORPSE.  7"s from RIVAL MOB, the new HJERTESTOP 7" (limited tour edition!), TRANZMITORS, and BORED STRAIGHT.  New releases from KEN ROCK, SIX FEET UNDER, KATORGA WORKS, and COMBAT ROCK; a bunch of good stuff from IT'S ALIVE Records (Dopamines, Be My Doppleganger, Methadones, House Boat, and more),  three new split 7"s from SEE YOU IN HELL (w/ CROW, SYSTEMATIC DEATH, and CONTRAST ATTITUDE), the second SICK MORMONS 7", and a bunch of other cool stuff ...

I got a few copies of the TOUCH AND GO book, a definite must have.  NEGATIVE INSIGHT is a great new zine to check out, it also comes with a split live tape from SACRILIGE and DISASTER.  I also have a few new demo tapes as well.

A TON of restocks as well from DERANGED, DISCHORD, 540 (NO TOLERANCE 7", X 7") SIX FEET UNDER, SORRY STATE, and more ... I also got a restock on the GREEN BERET demo tape (from Boston, members of SOCIAL CIRCKLE).

Direct Control "BUCKTOWN HARDCORE" LP in the distro

Brand spanking new from Tankcrimes Records ... Direct Control's BUCKTOWN HARDCORE 12" contains their incredible 2003 demo, as a shit ton of other unreleased demo sessions.  I think this might be my favorite DIRECT CONTROL material ever, so I'm really excited that it finally found it's way to a vinyl release. You probably have different versions of most of these songs, but I assure you that this is worth picking up ... if anything for the killer cover art alone.

You can pick up your copy from the Grave Mistake Webstore here:

DIRECT CONTROL "BUCKTOWN HARDCORE" LP

I'll have a bigger distro update early next week, but I'm so excited about this release that I had to put it up right away!

WEBSTORE / LABEL UPDATE 10.13.10

LABEL / WEBSTORE UPDATE - OCTOBER 13, 2010

Here's a semi short but quality distro update, definitely a bunch of great new releases in the webstore so check it out!  I'll keep the intro short ... THE LADIES "SIX MORE REASONS TO HATE THE LADIES" 7" came out a few weeks ago and is getting some pretty awesome reviews, be sure to pick that up if you haven't yet. I still have some pink vinyl available in the webstore.

In upcoming release, the DEEP SLEEP LP and the BAD ADVICE 7" are at the pressing plant! Still not sure when they'll be officially out, but I'll have more info as the weeks go on.  DEEP SLEEP are currently scheduled to have some advance copies of the 12" at THE FEST at the end of the month so if you are heading to Gainesville in a few weeks, you might be able to grab one of these months before everyone else!

Upcoming GRAVE MISTAKE releases after that will be a new 7" from DC's THE SHIRKS, a 7" single from NC's BRAIN F, and the US pressing of the new COKE BUST "Degradation" 7" (European pressing on REFUSE RECORDS) ... I'm getting started on all of those this week, so expect to see more info on those before the year is over as well. I'll also be repressing the GOVERNMENT WARNING "NO MODERATION" LP (originally released on Feral Ward) in the near future ... that's been out of print for a little while now so it will be available once again on Grave Mistake.

I guess that's it for now ... so on to the webstore update!

GRAVE MISTAKE WEBSTORE: www.gravemistakerecords.com/catalog

Some ripping new 7"s in this update from CONFINES, MEN'S INTEREST, INSURGENTS, ORGANIZED SPORTS ... a cool limited single from Boston's THE TROUBLE, some copies (maybe the last remaining distro copies?) of the CONVERGE "ON MY SHIELD" 7" ... a few new releases from REACT! including the new BETRAYED and GIVE 7"s ... a reissue of MODERN WARFARE's 1981 EP, HARD SKIN / BLOTTO japanese split 7", two new 7"s from SORRY STATE,  including the LOVE TRIANGLE 7" which is highly recommended and catchy as can be ... the new 7" from DC's THE SHIRKS and a bunch of other cool releases on the WINDIAN label out of DC as well ... some dead stock DSI releases including the MALEFICE and IMMORAL DISCIPLINE 7"s ... and a bunch of random 90's dead stock Sympathy for the Record Industry 7"s from the DWARVES, BLAG DAHLIA, and GREG OBLIVION (Oblivions, Reigning Sound).

For LPs, the new DESKONOCIDOS LP comes highly recommended ... the LA URSS LP is killer too; the highly anticipated AMERICA'S HARDCORE LP compilation (with RIVAL MOB, TITLE FIGHT, FOUNDATION, and more), the new INEPSY picture disc, LPs from CONTRAST ATTITUDE and LEBENDEN TOTEN, a bunch of cool releases from DUSTY MEDICAL RECORDS (SUGAR STEMS, MIDWEST BEAT, DRUGS DRAGONS), a reissue of the classic first MDC LP, the 25th anniversary edition of the NARDCORE compilation LP (one of my personal favorites!), a reissue of the first SMOKING POPES LP, some awesome vinyl represses from DISCHORD including the THREE LP (this record is so good, glad to see it available on vinyl again), HOOVER'S "LURID TRAVERSAL.." LP (another persona fave), and SCREAM's "THIS SIDE UP;" ... finally I have a couple of new tapes from WYMYNS PRYSYN and THE DELICACIES OF CONSUMING FLESH.

Thanks for reading!

COKE BUST EUROPEAN TOUR

New LADIES 7" out now! Plus WEBSTORE UPDATE!!!

As I promised in the last update, I'm trying to let less time go by in between updates ... especially since I've been getting a ton of rad new records in, it would be  a waste not to make them all available as soon as possible.  Hopefully you have some cash left over from the last update, because this one has a lot of sweet stuff in it ...

First and foremost, the newest GRAVE MISTAKE release is out now! "Six More Reasons to Hate the Ladies" is the fourth 7" from Richmond's one and only LADIES ... as the title says, six more blasts of unadulterated punk rock sleaze. I think this might be their best EP to date ... a great mix of high octane Dwarves-esque rippers mixed with a couple of mid tempo cuts with a hint of melody that wasn't really as prevalent on their earlier records, but really adds to their sound.  And of course, lyrical content that you definitely won't want to repeat in front of your parents or significant other.  I can see this record appealing to everyone from garage punk scumbags to obnoxious ramone-clone loving pop punk nerds (and everyone in between) but I'll let you be the judge.  Anyways, the record rules so you should definitely get it.  We did 200 copies on nice macho pink vinyl to match the cover art  ... so go ahead and order one!

Aside from that, I have a bunch of other great releases in the distro as well.  Luckily the list isn't as overwhelming as the last update, but there is just as much quality stuff nevertheless ...

The GRAVE MISTAKE WEBSTORE can be found at: www.gravemistakerecords.com/catalog

NEW ADDITIONS to the webstore can be found here: http://www.gravemistakerecords.com/catalog/products_new.php

First off, I've got the long awaited CHRONIC SICK reissues on NO WAY RECORDS ... the vinyl showed up on wednesday and aside from ordering direct from NO WAY themselves, I think I'm currently the only place you can get these right now online.   Two very hard to find early 80's cult classics, you definitely need to pick both the 12" and the 7" up!  If you are looking for colored vinyl, you can order direct from NO WAY RECORDS but if your nerd tendencies aren't flaring up tonight, the black vinyl I have in stock sounds just as good!  And don't let these reissues overshadow the new ACID REFLUX "Moves" 7" also on No Way ... that thing is a beastly ripper!

In other reissues, the PROTEX LP is incredible. The SING SING label always comes through with delivering some punk and power pop gems, this LP is no exception ... I highly recommend checking out some of the other releases on this label (especially the RUDI 7"s).  Another highly recommended reissue in this update is the NARDCORE classic, STALAG 13's "In Control" LP ... obviously not as obscure or hard to find, but just as essential!

In CURRENT releases, I finally got my hands on the newest Painkiller 7"s from KNIFE FIGHT and VACCINE, some new 7"s from DOUCHMASTER: a new single from GENTLEMAN JESSE and new one from NOBUNNY; the newest output from Australia's own UV RACE (who are currently in the US on tour now w/ TOTAL CONTROL); a handful of new DIRTNAP releases including the MEAN JEANS / WHITE WIRES split 7", new LPs from AUTISTIC YOUTH and GOODNIGHT LOVING, and my pick of the bunch, the new LP from THE ESTRANGED!  I've also got the newest european only 7" from Chicago's own NO SLOGAN, as well as some other cool singles from NO PROBLEM, WICCANS, VILE INTENT, HAMILTONS, and more!

On the CORE front ... I picked up a bunch of stuff from 6131 and Triple B records, including the crushing new ALPHA & OMEGA LP (on limited GREEN vinyl), both 7"s from hometown heroes FIRE & ICE (which features ex IRON BOOTS and DOWN TO NOTHING members), and a killer split from Wilkes Barre's finest, BAD SEED and WAR HUNGRY.  In addition to all of the new vinyl, I picked up a couple of new tapes and zines as well, including a DESKONOCIDOS collection cassette .  Oh and I also scored some much needed restocks on records like the MUCH WORSE 7", COKE BUST LP, HATRED SURGE 7", MARKED MEN s/t LP, and a bunch more ...

FINALLY ... as you know I don't really do many "sales" in the distro, but I actually have one going right now and it's a pretty cool one.  As you may or many not know, this year marks FRONTIER RECORDS' 30th anniversary as a label ... as weird as it is to say, I don't know what I'd be listening to now or where I'd be if i hadn't picked up a cassette of the first SUICIDAL TENDENCIES record or a beat up copy of the CIRCLE JERKS "GROUP SEX" LP when I was first getting into punk ... not to mention all of the other awesome records and reissues that FRONTIER has under their belts (ADOLESCENTS, CHRISTIAN DEATH, DANGERHOUSE Singles comps, MIDDLE CLASS, WEIRDOS, etc ...) .... so as a way to say "thanks" to this label for being awesome and to hopefully turn some people on to some of my favorite bands, all of the Frontier vinyl in the Grave Mistake webstore is super cheap this month (LPs are $8.50, 7"s are $3.50)... now I know you are probably thinking, who DOESN'T have a copy of GROUP SEX or the Blue album sitting in their collection? But you know, sometimes these things happen. So check your record shelf, if you are missing any one of these records, now would be a good time to grab what you've been missing ... all of the Frontier stuff on sale can be found here: FRONTIER RECORDS SALE!

Anyways, that's all for now ... one of these days I'll get around to doing an official label update to let you all know what is coming up for the rest of the year. Until then ... thanks for reading and thanks for the support!

Six More Reasons ... out soon

I was planning on having this new Ladies record out last week, but alas ... I got lazy. Shooting on having it available for order this FRIDAY ... i've got a bunch of pink vinyl (out of 200) for you early birds.  This is their fourth 7" and I'll be damned if it isn't their best (and best LOOKING too). You can never have too much pink and purple ... keep your eyes peeled for my email update, here's the cover art for you to jerk it to while you wait  ...
