NEW RELEASES: SECTARIAN VIOLENCE 7" and BAD ADVICE 7" - OUT NOW!

Yup, that's right! The first two GRAVE MISTAKE new releases for 2012, the SECTARIAN VIOLENCE "S/T" 7" and the BAD ADVICE "Do Not Resuscitate" 7", are now available in the webstore! Both of these records took a LOT longer to get out then originally planned, but I can honestly say that the wait and anticipation for both was definitely worth it as they look and sound incredible.  I've got limited colored vinyl for both releases (Orange for the Bad Ad, Red for the SxV) available to mailorder customers so head over to the webstore and pick 'em up! We've got some tracks from both of the records posted on the Grave Mistake Bandcamp page as well.  Here's a bit more on these two new releases ...

GRAVE051: SECTARIAN VIOLENCE "S/T" 7"
A nice breath of fresh air for hardcore punk in the harshest demeanor possible!  This is the pummeling debut EP from SECTARIAN VIOLENCE, an intercontinental straight edge hardcore punk band comprised of members of bands from the US (COKE BUST), the UK (NEVER AGAIN), and Sweden (STAY HUNGRY).  Fast, raw, pissed off hardcore drawing influences from 80's hardcore like THE ABUSED, LIFES BLOOD, NEGATIVE APPROACH, or early AGNOSTIC FRONT, with a contemporary take on the genre similar to more recent bands like VIOLENT MINDS or DEAD STOP.  Raging fast parts combined with hard hitting breakdowns, all of which are executed with desperation and urgency of those classic 80's bands.  Lyrically the topics cover a range of social and political issues, both globally and locally, seething with the frustration and anger that makes hardcore and punk still relevant in 2012.

This past summer, Nicktape from COKE BUST mentioned to me that he had a cool international side project band he was working on with some fine folks from the UK and Sweden ... he sent me their (at the time) brand new recording and I knew instantly that it was something I wanted to put out.  I like to think the label has put out it's share of interesting and diverse punk and hardcore over the years, but when it comes down to it - fast, raw, no bullshit hardcore at 45 rpms is where my heart truly lies.  We managed to get about 100 rushed copies for their short UK tour back in October, then hit several fairly long unexpected delays before finally getting the completed pressing this month.  Anyways, the wait is now over and I'm thrilled to have this slab of wax in my hands.  This EP is straight to the fucking point, hardcore played like it should be from a bunch of dudes that clearly live on a steady diet of classic core from the early to late 80's.  This release came out just in time for the band's European tour in March, check out the dates below!

GRAVE043: BAD ADVICE "DO NOT RESUSCITATE" 7"
Finally!!! This EP from Richmond's BAD ADVICE has been in the making for the better part of four years.  BAD ADVICE features Brandon and Eric from GOVERNMENT WARNING / DIRECT CONTROL on double guitar duties, Tony Bitch and Keith Babe from THE LADIES on vocals and bass, respectively, and Colin from CLOAK/DAGGER behind the drum kit; a Richmond hc/punk all-star group of sorts.  Originally formed in 2007, recorded in 2008, finished in 2010, and now released in 2012, this EP still sounds as vital and refreshing as the day these songs were written.  While the "members of" tags inevitably perked up people's ears (especially at that time in the late 2000's), BAD ADVICE managed to step out from the shadows of "side project" status by delivering a scathing blend of mid tempo 70's punk and pissed-fast early USHC, both live and now on record.  Each member was able to bring to the table the writing and playing styles they perfected with their main bands to create a sound that stood on it's own amidst not only their bands, but their contemporaries as well.  If you are a fan of any of the bands listed previously, you will DEFINITELY want to check this out.  Split release with TENSION HEAD RECORDS.

Man I've been talking about this one for a WHILE and I assure you it wasn't to build up anticipation, there really was no real reason for this record taking this long but who cares because it's finally out!  Any HCPM freak that was floating around Richmond circa 2007-2008 can tell you about BAD ADVICE; what originally started as a just-for-fun side project turned into probably one of the best bands the area has seen in recent years.  Unfortunately they could never quite get their shit together, although they did manage to play a small number of incredible shows, each one more memorable than the next.

Luckily for us, the band was able to crank out this EP.  Is this a posthumous release?  Only time will tell, but what we do know is that they left us with four ripping tracks of in your face hardcore punk.  Some of these songs appeared on their demo, but these versions obliterate those demo versions; the intensity is maxed out and Tony's vocal delivery combines the snotty garage inflection you've come to love from THE LADIES with a throaty, early 80's USHC urgency ...  and you know what the rest of the members are capable of, so expect nothing short of hardcore punk perfection.

**********************************************************************************************

So that's that, hopefully you'll check these out ... I've got a lot of killer stuff planned for Grave Mistake this year and these two releases are a great start. These are both ready to roll and orders will be shipping right away.  Your favorite distros, stores, and record labels should have their copies very shortly. If you do a distro/store/label/etc and would like to carry these or any other Grave Mistake releases, please do not hesitate to drop me an email ... I can deal direct or I can point you to one of our wonderful distributors. Any labels looking to trade, please hit me up as well.  Also, as always I'm looking for cool blogs / zines / websites that want to review copies, so don't hesitate to hit me up with some info if you would like to possibly receive promos for review.

I've been slow in announcing the rest of my 2012 plans, but rest assured, next week I will fill you in on EVERYTHING coming up! For now, thanks for reading and check out these new records!

WEBSTORE UPDATE! New OMEGAS, GIVE, MIGRAINE, KIM PHUC, and MORE!

GRAVE MISTAKE RECORDS / MAILORDER
UPDATE 2.09.2012

Here's another quick distro/label update ... some awesome new releases and a ton of great restocks this week, so check out the info below. I had planned to have an official "label" update in your inbox around this time, where I would fill you on all of the great stuff I have planned for the first half of the year.  Sadly, it is looking like it's going to have to wait until next week. I will say that the first two new Grave Mistake releases for 2012 are finally around the corner ... the SECTARIAN VIOLENCE 7", which has unfortunately seen it's fair share of delays since we first started the project back in the fall, should be in my hands this week (with the covers not too far behind). The band is also going to be doing a European tour in March so we'll have more info on that shortly but for now you can check the dates HERE. If all goes as planned over the next few weeks (let's all keep our fingers crossed), the band WILL have copies of the EP with them, you might even be able to grab a copy before hand from your favorite distro before they hit your city.

The second release is the BAD ADVICE 7" ... I've been talking about this record for a LONG time but I can 110% promise you that it WILL be out this month! For those of you unfamiliar, BAD ADVICE was a killer "side project" band of sorts that floated around Richmond a few years back (I think around 2007-2009 if my memory serves correct). The band featured members of Direct Control, Government Warning, The Ladies, and Cloak/Dagger.  Definite hometown favorites, they always managed to put on an intense show and get everyone all worked up - sadly they never really ventured out of town and gradually stopped playing.  Luckily, they managed to record this stellar EP that I jumped at the chance to release.  The music was recorded at the end of 2008, Tony finished the vocals in 2010, and I have been sitting on the vinyl since January of 2011! Yup, that's right, I've been keeping this 7" all to myself for over a year! I really have no clue why this record has taken so long to see the light of day, but trust me it will be worth it. Keep your eyes peeled because I should have ordering info for both in a couple of weeks ... I'll also fill you in on what we have going on for the rest of 2012 next week (if you're lucky).

In the meantime, be sure to check out the GRAVE MISTAKE BANDCAMP page ... we'll have some new music up there VERY soon but for now feel free to check out the 30+ releases that are currently streaming!

Ok, anyways onto the new distro stuff for this week ...

CLICK HERE FOR THE NEW STUFF FOR THIS WEEK

Pretty diverse update this week, so let's get started. First off, two brand new singles from the fine folks at PAINKILLER; the newest EP from the one and only OMEGAS and another new single from DC's own GIVE; two new releases from LENGUA ARMADA - the MIGRAINE 7" and the LAS 4 BANDAS comp LP... something tells me they won't be around for long, grab em while you can! I stocked up on the freshly repressed COKE BUST "Fuck Bar Culture" 7" ... sure it's a few years old (it was the band's debut EP), but it's been a bit elusive as it's gone in and out of print over the past few years. So if you haven't had a chance to get your hands one one, now should be a good time! Other new 7"s of note from BRAIN SLUG, ANNOTATION, BIG CRUX, POST TEENS, PENIS GEYSER, POISON PLANET, RIGHT IDEA, NO STATIK, EXTERNAL MENACE, HAVERCHUCKS and more!

For the new LPs, definitely a mixed bag with something for everyone, and a fair share of reissues and repressings (many of which are of semi-recent releases from the past 10 or so years - which in my opinion is always cool to see)... first off, I picked up some recently discovered colored vinyl copies of the UNSEEN FORCE "In Search of the Truth" LP reissue that came out on NO WAY a few years back (GRAVE MISTAKE released the CD version) ... raging Richmond hardcore from 1986, definitely a reissue worth checking out if you haven't yet ... and now that I can entice you with colored vinyl once again, seems like a good time to pick it up! Speaking of reissues, I also grabbed copies of my favorite DI record, "Ancient Artifacts" (as well as restocked on the "Horse Bites Dog Cries" and ADOLESCENTS "Brats in Battalions" LPs on the same label).  I picked up some copies of the new IRON LUNG releases - the KIM PHUC LP and the TRUE RADICAL MIRACLE LP; the final release from Canada's one and only GERM ATTAK; the debut LP from post-PS ELLIOT project WAXAHATCHEE; a reissue of one of my favorite 90's hardcore records, INDECISION's "Unorthodox" LP;  a reissue of alt-country heros LUCERO's 2003 LP "That Much Further West," (another personal fave); and grabbed all three TIM BARRY LPs which were recently repressed by the fine folks at CHUNKSAAH, who also just released the elusive final EXPLOSION LP which I was able to grab some copies of as well!

Also picked up some new zines; newest issues of JERK STORE and GREATEST CITY IN THE WORLD (which is a split w/ SHIT SHEET), and the latest issue of MAXIMUMROCKNROLL which has all of the fun "Best of 2011" lists so you can see what killer records from last year you might have missed out on (like the BRAIN F≠ LP).

Still have most of the new releases from the last update still available in case you missed em; the ripping STAB 7", DEATH EVOCATION 7", all five DISCHARGE 7" reissues on Havoc; CRIMEN 7", ADRENALIN OD "Let's Barbeque" 7" reissue, TENEMENT "Blind Wink" LP, NAZI DUST LP, ORGANZIED SPORTS LP, KROMOSOM and TEARGAS LPS, and much much more!

Finally, a TON of restocks from ROB's HOUSE (EX-HUMANS, GG KING, COLA FREAKS), FERAL WARD (INEPSY, MEANWHILE, WARCRY, HARD SKIN, VICIOUS), DISCHORD (VOID, ARTIFICIAL PEACE, RITES OF SPRING, SCREAM, DAG NASTY), a few more copies of the PMRC LP, the awesome POISON IDEA "Darby Crash Rides Again" Reissue (I'm having a hard time keeping this one in stock!), restocked on the 2nd and 3rd SHIRKS singles as well as some other WINDIAN titles (CRUSHED BUTLER, TESTORS, JUNGLE FEVER), finally was able to grab more copies of the incredible WASTE MANAGEMENT "Power Abuse" 7" ... and much much more (restock list, as always, can be found at the bottom of this update).

That's all for this week, much more coming this month so you'll probably be hearing from me sooner than later. Thanks for reading and for the support!

NEW STUFF 2.09.12:

OMEGAS "NY TERMINATOR" 7" (PAINKILLER)
The Omegas latest 5-song E.P. helps to make the longstanding case, that at any given time, there will always be a couple good French Canadian bands (VioVod; Capitalist Alienation; etc.). This band is the New York <--> Montreal connection (look it up) performing the kind of tunefully skanktastic cuts made famous by basically any band on the NY Thrash comp in 1982. It's 2011 though, and Painkiller brings you another slab of Omega-ish braincell smashing destruction.

GIVE "PETAL PUSHING" 7" (PAINKILLER)
One of three GIVE singles released this fall on a spread of labels, but this one is obviously the best because we released it. The Washington Post (or Times) called them "not-quite-hardcore" for a "not-quite-hardcore" town which is weird because Boston (the town of Rival Mob -- alternately, the Town of Hardcore for Hardcore) likes them very much. This would fit in nicely in the DC scene of '86-'89 with a lot of jangled guitar interplay, uplifting and honest vocals, and of course a recording via the great Don Zientara @ Inner Ear studios.

MIGRAINE "FOUR HUMORS" 7" (LENGUA ARMADA)
Bay area band that plays a way-off-the-grid style of music. Four Humors, their third EP continues on where the band has naturally been heading, exploring a world of non-linear sounds that are ferocious yet pushing the boundaries of what most expect from a hardcore record. Amidst the chaotic-spectrum of sounds there are compositions that make this EP stand out from just another noisy hardcore band.  500 pressed.

V/A - LAS 4 BANDAS - COMPILATION LP (LENGUA ARMADA)
Leuzemia (3 tracks), Escuela Cerrada (4 tracks), Autopsia (4 tracks), Guerilla Urbana (5 tracks).  First released as a cassette in 1985, this comp features multiple tracks from 4 legendary Peruvian bands.  This is first-wave punk out of the Americas and has some serious attitude. Pulled from the master reels this aged recording comes with all its original energy and crude spirit intact. Already a boom box classic that has gathered generations of fans, this record is a must. 500 copies pressed.

COKE BUST "FUCK BAR CULTURE" 7" (THIRD PARTY)
Finally back in print! COKE BUST's proper debut EP bring six tracks of pure thrashing hardcore punk, musically reminiscent of bands like What Happens Next? and Tear It Up with some negative lyrics and a pissed-off attitude. 300 on Pink vinyl.

BRAIN SLUG "DISTORT NEW YORK" 7" (HARDWARE)
HARDCORE. "distort new york" is the debut 7" by BRAIN SLUG. This one will get you 5 nasty slaps in the face taking influence from Boston classics like SS DECONTROL or newer bands like OMEGAS.

ANNOTATION "S/T" 7" (HARDWARE)
Ill, new 5-track 7" follow up to their 2007 debut. They pretty much changed their style into more BL'AST, MY WAR-era BLACK FLAG and ANNIHILATION TIME adding a straight, youthful twist rarely heard today. One of the few promising, outstanding bands in Germany right now. 500 copies, 100 on green colored vinyl. All on 4-color heavy cardstock board to the boot.

CAPITALIST CASUALTIES / LACK OF INTEREST - SPLIT 7" (SIX WEEKS)
Originally released with Short Fast & Loud fanzine #23, this split 7" features two California powerviolence stalwarts continuing their legacies of crippling, ultrafast hardcore. The demand for this 7" was so high it has been re-pressed but, like the original pressing, will only be available for a limited time.

POST TEENS "S/T" 7" (SOUND STEADY)
Highly anticipated first studio recordings from Gainesville's Post Teens featuring members of Assholeparade, Torche, Averkiou and Dead Friends. Six blown-out, insanely catchy jams that are guaranteed to burrow their way into your brain. For fans of Garage rock/Punk/Marked Men/High Tension Wires/Dirtnap stuff/etc!

WHITE CRIME "S/T" 7" (BUMMER TAPES)
This debut EP super-packs 7 songs on 7 inches of vinyl, and they even had to make it two different speeds to do so (33 rpm side A/ 45 rpm side B). Recently made part of Maximum Rock n Roll's Top Ten jams for February, this fuzzed out punk rock record is the thing to blare as we all line up to jump over the edge of digital enslavement. Live shows are known to include fingerless gloves, smashed drum sets, holes in the wall, Ivy Green covers, and crowds erupting into full blown chaos. This is the Houston sound of palm trees, barbacoa and smog. Featuring members of Muhammadali, Talk Sick Brats, and Davey Crockett. Limited to 300.

POISON PLANET "BOYCOTT EVERYTHING" 7" (REFUSE)
POISON PLANET is a political vegan straight edge hardcore punk from Chicago, USA. The band  contains members previously and currently involved in HALFMAST, NO TIME LEFT, BOILING OVER, RAW NERVE, COLD SHOULDER and ThirdXParty Records. Poison Planet play fast and pissed off 80's hardcore punk in the vein of Negative Approach, Blank Stare, The Repos or 86 Mentality. The message coming from Poison Planet’s music is a straight and fearless reaction to the political and social vision of today’s world, which still needs to be challenged and questioned. As the members admit themselves, the works of Howard Zinn or Naomi Klein have a big influence on the band’s approach to the world.  According to Poison Planet, veganism, straight edge or social activism are ways of remaining aware of and critical towards the political and cultural mechanisms surrounding us. "Boycott Everything" is the brane new release by the Chicago-based band including five tracks of fast and aggressive hardcore.

RIGHT IDEA "RIGHT WAY" 7" (REFUSE)
"Right way" contains 8 brand new songs of the Cleveland band.  Expect a  high-energy straight edge hardcore in the vein of Straight Ahead, No For An  Answer, DYS or Youth Of Today. The positive energy, intensity and  sing-a-long parts are all there, with the message of enthusiasm, hope and optimism. STRAIGHT EDGE 2010!

NO STATIK "NO HOSPICE" 7" (PRANK)
Two New Tracks from the Bay Area's NO STATIK, "No Hospice" is a mid-paced, floor punching anthem , "Clean Swift Sunshine" is a full tilt hardcore blasting more akin to tracks on their 2011 Prank debut 12". Comes in a felt weave pocket sleeve with insert.  Ex/Current members of DESTROY!, MOMENTO MORI, JUD JUD, WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?, FUCKFACE , SCHOLASTIC DEATH, LOOK BACK AND LAUGH, ARTIMUS PYLE, SCROTUM GRINDER, CONQUEST FOR DEATH, END OF THE CENTURY PARTY, etc, etc.)

BIG CRUX "BIG CRUX IS A BIG FUNK" 7" (IRON LUNG)
Out of nowhere, unseen for years, Felix from LIFE'S HALT came into the record shop armed with an ipod full of home-made demos aptly titled "Futuro", signaling that he had the itch to start a new band and get back to doing what he does best. Listening through these (only allowed on headphones) tunes We heard tastes of the BIG BOYS, THE PLUGZ and the MINUTEMEN. Best part is that some of those were sung in his native Spanish tongue. Dynamite! Now BIG CRUX is fully formed and tight as shit. Three of those "Futuro" tracks are recorded and it is our extreme pleasure to share them with you. Felix, classify those tracks as "Presente" amigo. Silk screened sleeves. Art by Tim Kerr.

PENIS GEYSER / SETE STAR SEPT - SPLIT 7" (SPHC)
A special treat for all true grinders. It's a tremendous pleasure for me to release my two favorite grind bands on this planet on one split 7". It was fantastic to see them tour the US together and hopefully they'll do Japan together too. Sete Star Sept is literally the best grind band I've ever seen live. For being just bass and drums, their recordings here sound massive, dense, claustrophobic. Wild arrangements hint at chaos yet they're too musically tight to just be randomized. This is how grindcore should sound to me: the destruction of music/art/everything. True professionals. Penis Geyser's side was culled from tape recordings of this recent US tour. Again, the complete abandonment and destruction of musicality to express true feelings and energies. I love noisecore and these guys are reigning world champions.

SPECTRES "VISIONS OF A NEW WORLD" 7" (WHISPER IN DARKNESS)
Two new "black sheep tracks" from Spectres showing less of an influence from The Mob and more of the sound of Warsaw while still retaining the dark and looming feel of the 80's cross pollination of anarcho punk and death rock.

NIKKI AND THE CORVETTES "YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY" 7" (RAMO)
Led by Nikki Corvette, the Detroit trio Nikki & the Corvettes played basic new wave power pop with girl group influences. If you're looking for something rawer than the Go-Go's, yet certainly not as raw as the Ramones, this could fill the bill.  This single from 2008 features two previously unreleased tracks recorded at Rollin Rock Studios in 1978 and an interview with Rodney Bingenheimer (Rodney on the ROQ).

EXTERNAL MENACE "EARLY DEMOS (1979-1984) 7" (LOUD PUNK)
Five unreleased demo tracks by the finest band to ever come out of Manchester, England. Wile active through out the 90's and still going today they are most known for their 2 amazing singles "Youth Of Today" and "No Veiws" on Beat The System records in the early 80's and tracks on classic punk comps like "Total Anarchy", Religious As Hell", "A Kick Up The Arse" and "Wet Dreams". though their output in those days was minimal luckily current Vocalist Welshy(ex Swine Flu) uncovered a bunch of unreleased tracks that were though to of been lost for many years. Includes 2 Tracks from their 1979 demo, 2 tracks from an unreleased session in 1981 and an amazing version of No Mean Feet from 1984 with Sneddy on vocals

DISKONECTED, THE "4 TRACK EP" 7" (LOUD PUNK)
Iron-clad mohican Montrealers Diskonected finally get their first 7inch out. This rager brings back the heavier and guitar lead laden side of uk82 band like Skeptix ,The Fiend, One Way System or even Picture Frame Seduction.Always a chaotic band live; you never know if you'll get to see the entire show! 4 track ep Starring ex crazies from Inepsy and Skull N' Bones

HAVERCHUCKS, THE "S/T" 7" (SELF-RELEASED)
Debut five song 7" EP from Richmond, VA's HAVERCHUCKS.  As you can probably guess from the cover art, this new Richmond, VA band brings five catchy as hell pop punk songs reminiscent of mid-90s era SCREECHING WEASEL (How To Make Enemies / Bark Like A Dog) and other bands of that ilk; a respectable amount of Ramones influenced pop-punk without sounding like a total carbon copy (maybe more comparable to contemporaries like DEAR LANDLORD or TEENAGE BOTTLEROCKET).

MERCILESS GAME "GENJITSU WO KUTABARE" 8" (SPHC)
Merciless Game is a project band started as a solo endeavor by Zach of xBrainiax in 2004 and currently featuring members of xBrainiax, Lotus Fucker, and Chaos Destroy. Negative and spiteful noise punk a la Dust Noise, Screaming Noise, Expose, etc. Primitive and brutal. Recorded in a few hours in December 2010 by noise scientist Mike Walls, sat on for a year so the world could prepare.

KIM PHUC "COPSUCKER" LP (IRON LUNG)
Originally slated to be released on Parts Unknown but delayed for a near eternity, ILR is fucking psyched to finally let you in to the inner circle with KIM PHUC's debut LP. Copsucker is the pinnacle sound of a band that has been crafting, honing and re-imagining the way punk music should be played, with so much raw atmosphere and energy that it will probably rip you apart. Be careful.  We believe they are that good.  If you have had the good fortune to see these guys live then you already know that they are unbelievably tight and intensely powerful without having to lean on novelty or pretense to hook you. Rob might accidentally rub some sweat mud on your pants front but once he's come down he'll most likely offer to clean that victory stain off lickety-split. For those unfamiliar with the KP sound, it lands somewhere near the idea of Warsaw era Joy Division on steroids with a distinct Pittsburgh edge. THE WAIT IS OVER! Welcome home.

TRUE RADICAL MIRACLE "COCKROACHES" LP (IRON LUNG)
It's hard to believe that TRUE RADICAL MIRACLE has been largely ignored outside of Australia until now. Maybe it's because Cockroaches was only available on CD in Australia back in 2006. Maybe it's because the world wasn't quite ready for the cruel haunted ugliness that makes them a staple in the Aussie noise rock scene. Cockroaches reflects on THE BAD SEEDS and Filth/Cop era SWANS but takes it's primitive nature to new level by smashing the mirror and hacking those bands to chunks with the shards. It's spent 5 years in the shadows of the outback but now it's time for the world to experience this madness. Let the cockroaches crawl all over you. Only 500 copies will be made. Full color, heavy duty everything. Black vinyl.

UNSEEN FORCE "IN SEARCH OF THE TRUTH" LP *COLORED VINYL (NO WAY)
Reissued back in 2008 on NO WAY (CD version on Grave Mistake/Vicious Circle) ... we've stumbled across a few of the limited color vinyl copies so here they are!  Originally released in 1986 as one small pressing of 500 copies, we've unearthed one hell of a hardcore gem with this one. Finally available once again after 22 long years is the official reissue of UNSEEN FORCE'S devastating LP from 1986 "IN SEARCH OF THE TRUTH." Hailing from none other than Richmond, VA, comprised of members of WHITE CROSS, HONOR ROLE, and 2000 MANIACS (and eventually FOUR WALLS FALLING and GWAR) ... UNSEEN FORCE made a name for themselves in their brief two year existence, playing countless shows both locally and nationwide, and releasing their 11 song monster of an LP.  This reissue was created directly from the original Masters, you know this one sounds nice! This is a must have for fans of early to mid 80's USHC like CIA, BATALLION OF SAINTS, WHITE CROSS and all the good stuff like that! Hardcore for the hardcore, get in or get out.

GERM ATTAK "FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN" LP (LOUD PUNK)
After 3 LP's and 5 7"s Ottawa, Canad's germ Attak bring you their final release " Fear Of The Unknown", like their last LP "Cruxshadow" they continue to refine thier sound  and pump out more short fast and loud rippers like something you would find on Rity Records or Rot Records in the 80's. Classic UK style punk ala The Skeptix, GBH, One Way System and Uproar

DI "ANCIENT ARTIFACTS" LP (NICKLE AND DIME)
Classic Orange County punk right here, lots of melodic guitar leads and surfing references. ANCIENT ARTIFACTS which is considered by many to be their best work. Casey Royers vocals sound almost poetic at times with the band backing his emotions perfectly. D.I. has that great So-Cal sound that every skate-punk should love. This is the perfect summertime record. Strictly limited edition of 1000 copies on colored vinyl! D.I. is a must for every record collection!

WAXAHATCHEE "AMERICAN WEEKEND" LP (DON GIOVANNI)
The bad news is that P.S. ELLIOT have called it a day (though you still have a chance to catch them a couple more times). The good news is that from the ashes of that Alabama band rises the now-Brooklyn-based WAXAHATCHEE, otherwise known as KATIE CRUTCHFIELD who uses ‘just guitar, her voice, and a piano to tell stories.’ This is the kind of record you want to keep all to yourself and tell the whole world about at the same time.

LUCERO "THAT MUCH FURTHER WEST" 2xLP (SABOT)
Sometimes hearing a certain song can bring you back to a specific place in time, and although Lucero's sound has evolved dramatically over the past thirteen years, you'd be hard-pressed to find a fan who doesn’t consider the band's 2003 release That Much Further West to be one of those albums that defies genre and trends. While the band's early recordings also contain plenty of inherent magic, That Much Further West was a turning point for the Memphis-based rock act in the sense that it finally saw their songwriting skills sharpened dangerously enough to match the infectious energy of their live performances.  Unfortunately for vinyl fans That Much Further West was only pressed once as a very limited run back in 2003, and many collectors have had to pay outlandish prices to own original copies of the LP.  That Much Further West also includes an extra LP of bonus material taken from the original sessions.  180 Gram double LP, includes download code

7 SECONDS "NEW WIND" LP (BYO)
Their third full-length. More melodic than their previous efforts yet still keeping their hardcore roots alive. Features the classic anthems "Still Believe" and the title track "New Wind".

LEATHERFACE "VIVA LA ARTHOUSE: LIVE IN MELBOURNE 2010" 2xLP (NO IDEA)
Leatherface live shows have become the stuff of legend, if you’ve ever been lucky enough to catch them live you’ll have witnessed the pre-gig excitement, the trepidation of the emotional possibilities, the rollercoaster ride of each song and the overall full on powerhouse brutality of melodic punk rock which is down to Dickie Hammond's unique guitar playing and Frankie Stubbs counterpointing riffs, the bombast of the rhythm section that comprises of Stephen ‘Skruff’ Owen on drums and Greame Philliskirk on bass. On top of this mighty backdrop is Frankie Stubbs lyrics, with his incredibly raspy voice and passionate delivery, exudes an aura that demands and gets respect. He wins admiration, in part, for his distinct lack of trying to be something he’s not. He is utterly devoid of pretense and flash.  Viva La Arthouse is a celebration of their 2010 Stormy Petrel World Tour that took in Europe, Canada, America, Japan and Australia. This double live album was recorded and mixed at Melbourne's famous music venue The Arthouse by Poison City Record's Matt Bodiam. The recording was made in arrangement with bassist Graeme Philliskirk on the spur of the moment, with the other three members of the band unaware the gig was being recorded for posterity.

IRON LUNG "SEXLESS // NO SEX" LP (PRANK)
Destructive power violence hardcore, The debut Prank LP from Seattle-via-San Francisco-Via-Reno's IRON LUNG follows to the point of their abrasive blend of low end crushing heavy lumbering split with devastating and inventive fast thrash and bleak lyrics skewed through medical malpractice. A 20-song second LP following up their "life. Iron Lung.Death" LP on 625 Thrash on top of a ridiculous number of 7"'s, split releases, cassettes, CD-R's and other limited releases. The Duo that is IRON LUNG sit at the forefront of the modern Power Violence resurgence, continually re-inventing the formula and pushing it to new extremes. IRON LUNG members were previously in ARTIMUS PYLE, GEHENNA, GOB and VAE VICTUS and have toured extensively throughout the US and Europe, been on TV in Iceland and also toured Australia, where they will return in 2008. "SEXLESS//NO SEX" was recorded at Polymorph Studios by Dan Rathbun (who's engineering and production includes some of the best of extreme underground hardcore-TRAGEDY, HIS HERO IS GONE, WORLD BURNS TO DEATH, FROM ASHES RISE).The cover artwork is mind blowing pen and ink scratching by NICK BLINKO of RUDIMENTARY PENI.

INDECISION "UNORTHODOX" LP (BITTER MELODY)
"Unorthodox" is the now-classic LP from '90s NYHC heavyweights Indecision with lyrical content that mostly tackled the issue of religion over straightforward, heavy hardcore.  Formed in 1993 in Brooklyn, NY, disbanded summer 2000 in El Paso, TX. Notorious for their tireless work ethic, Indecision toured the world until exhaustion, literally. They released three full length albums, as well as countless 7"s and EPs. Took pages from Sick Of It All, Agnostic Front and the Cro-Mags as well as the West coast sounds of Unbroken, Undertow and Outspoken and created a sound of their own. Indecision is revered for their uncompromising integrity. Inspired some, hated by many but ultimately respected by all. "Bitter Melody" has remastered the recording from the original tapes for the first time for this release on LP.

TIM BARRY "MANCHESTER" LP (CHUNKSAAH)
When Tim Barry's second album "Manchester" arrived just a year after his strong first album, there was no doubt in anyone's mind that this was the work of a man inspired. On this album Tim takes all the strange and difficult experiences of the year prior and distills them through his trademark brutal honesty and penchant for great storytelling to come up with 12 tales of the mean cops, missed trains, wounded soldiers, joyful memories, passed friends, lost days, overdeveloped places, changed people, new beginnings and the constant struggle to make tomorrow better than today. There's a fair bit of darkness, rage, pain, and a dose of humor, but always a load of humanity in each of these songs. It's not very often that you can sit down and put on a record and feel like you're spending the night catching up with an old friend, but this record is exactly like that.  Recorded once again with Lance Koehler, this record keeps the feel of Tim's first album chugging along, including all of the friends and family we're all so well acquainted with from said record, but also shows that Tim's not afraid to broaden his familiar and distinctive acoustic folk style. Of course at it's heart the record is still just Tim and his guitar telling it like it is, but sometimes, in a deeper exploration of what he did on "Rivanna Junction," we're treated to a melancholic piano and violin driven ballad, or a soft, lilting country waltz, or a clever, swinging country-rock stomper; hell, even a New Orleans style brass band sneaks it's way onto the record. By the end of the record you begin to realize that despite the range he covers in these songs every single moment just sounds purely and sincerely like Tim, and no one else.

TIM BARRY "RIVANNA JUNCTION" LP (CHUNKSAAH)
With his first full length album, "Rivanna Junction," Tim Barry arrived with such presence and confidence in his craft it was clear he was a man steeped in the tradition of folk and country music. Tim would joke that he's "just another old guy that used to be in a punk band that now plays an acoustic guitar," but those of us that have heard the records he's made, or seen one of the many shows he's played over the years know there's a lot more to the story than that. This record is ten honest portraits of melancholy, anger, joy, redemption and more than anything, the pursuit of a life worth living. All of the vigor and vitriol of his days as the singer in hardcore/punk band Avail are evident here, but this isn't your average "folk punk" record, because, well, Tim Barry isn't the kind of guy that writes your average song. Recorded over the course of two weeks with his buddy Lance Koehler, "Rivanna Junction" is a mostly acoustic guitar and voice driven affair, but does include inspired contributions from brother James Barry (piano) and sister Caitlin Barry (violin), local Richmond bluegrass musician Billy Lux (bass), as well friends Josh Small (vocals, acoustic and electric guitar and dobro) and Lance Koehler (drums). Some tracks chug along with a rousing campfire singalong vibe, while others slow burn and sizzle with emotional intensity, but all of them beg to stay with you and invite you to sing along.

TIM BARRY "28TH AND STONEWALL" LP (CHUNKSAAH)
From the moment you hear "28th and Stonewall" come stomping in with the raucous and raging electric guitar driven barn-burner "Thing of the Past" it's clear that Tim hasn't lost a bit of his vitality; in fact, he's never sounded more compelling. Funny; wistful; heartrending; clever; impassioned; antagonistic; candid: Tim really draws from a wide range of emotions in the 12 tracks of "28th and Stonewall." Touching on everything from failed slave revolts, urban sprawl, moments of self-reflectivity, difficult relationships and living unapologetically, this record truly pulls no punches.  Not only is this perhaps the strongest and most varied set of songs that Tim has assembled lyrically, it just might be the most musically interesting thing he's ever done; featuring bolder contributions than ever by guest musicians like the No B.S. Brass band who appeared briefly on "Manchester," frequent collaborators sister Caitlin Barry and friend Josh Small as well as some new faces like Daniel Clark, these songs really display Tim's ability to expand his palate and experiment while still staying true to his roots. Recorded again with Lance Koehler at his Minimum Wage Studios in Richmond, VA, Tim has said of "28th and Stonewall": "The quality of the recording is by far the best Lance has done."
