First thing's first ... in case you missed last week's update, the KREMLIN "Will You Feed Me?" 7" is now available from Grave Mistake. We've still got some WHITE VINYL in the webstore so pick up a copy if you haven't yet! Here's the description:
GRAVE062: KREMLIN "Will You Feed Me?" 7"
US pressing of the debut 7" EP from Toronto's KREMLIN. Originally released in 2012 on Germany's Hardware Records, we decided it wouldn't hurt to press up a North American version to coincide with the release of the band's "Drunk in the Gulag" LP, released earlier this year on Beach Impediment / Bad Vibrations Records. This EP delivers five loud and chaotic rippers, combining influences ranging from UK/European hardcore to some good ol' USHC, with a hint of Japanese Noisecore thrown in ... it's fast, raw, and to the goddamn point! Newly remastered for maximum intensity! Stream the entire EP here.
Up next, we've got the NIGHT BIRDS "Born to Die in Suburbia" LP/CD!
The Jersey boys have outdone themselves yet again, as this new LP is
flawless ... I know many of you have anxiously been waiting to give us
your hard earned cash for this platter, expect ordering info in early
July! We'll have something special for you early birds, the band will
also have copies at their record release weekend shows ... you can find
the info for those shows at https://www.facebook.com/ NGHTBRDS
Later next month we will finally be releasing the DEVIL'S HAND "Welcome the Slaughter" 7" as the second release on the VINYL CONFLICT LABEL. This single is a damn ripper, it's taken a bit longer than expected to unleash on the world, but the wait will truly be worth it!
Anyways, enough label chatter for now, let's get down to the real reason I'm littering your inboxes ... Webstore Update!!!

This phenomenal slab of Japanese Hardcore has finally seen a legitimate repressing ... a damn classic. One time pressing courtesy of Feral Ward, so act fast because I don't think these will be around for too long. Speaking of classic reissues, I also grabbed a few copies of the (count em) three ANTI-CIMEX 7" reissues! That's right, their first three EPs, "Anarkist Attack," "Raped Ass," and "Victims of a Bomb Raid" all got the reissue treatment courtesy of Nada Nada Discos ... so grab them while you can! Speaking of reissues, I also picked up some of the newest SING SING releases from JOOK, THE BASTARDS, and SODA FRAISE as well as some restocks of the PROTEX LP and RAZAR 7"!!! Oh, and I was able to grab a few TSOL 7"s that TKO put out for RSD 2013!
I also was lucky enough to pick up a few copies of the CATHOLIC SPIT LP! This record is phenomenal! Their 7" was a good introduction but this LP brings it to a whole new level ... for me to even try and describe it wouldn't do it justice, you can check out the band's bandcamp or you can just order the record but this LP will probably go down in my top ten for the year, no question about it! I also picked up some copies of the brand new NEIGHBORHOOD BRATS singles collection LP on Deranged, two ABSURDO releases (their 7" and demo 12"), new SELFISH, DEATHCHARGE LPS, new DIRTY WORK and WARSONG 7"s, and a few more odds and ends, peep the full list below for the rest of the details!
Finally, still have a good amount of stuff from my last update ... a few TENEMENT "Sick Club" 7"s, HOAX "Collected" 12"s, NIGHT BIRDS "Maimed for the Masses" 7", new STAB 7", VIOLENT REACTION and HOUDS OF HATE LPs, new CREEM 7", and more!
That's all for now ... I need sleep! Headed to MD this weekend to visit the family, catch NIGHT BIRDS at Insubordination fest, hang out at CELEBRATED SUMMER RECORDS, and check out the last Baltimore TRAPPED UNDER ICE show for a while!!! It's gonna be a great weekend for me, hope yours is just as good!

NEW IN THE WEBSTORE FOR 6/28/13
BASTARD "WIND OF PAIN" LP (FERAL WARD)
One time pressing of this legendary LP by the crust/hardcore band BASTARD from Japan. 8 songs. Amazing early '90s hardcore that was certainly influential to a lot of current bands. Classic Japanese hardcore that is long-out-of-print and very expensive to buy online.
CATHOLIC SPIT "A PACT WITH THE DEVIL" LP (BAD TOUCH)
"FINALLY after TWO years, two line-up changes, two practice spaces and a self released 7" & LP, the beloved VENTURA locals in Catholic Spent created the bangers off this modern death rock 12" a work of extraordinary horror bliss. Inevitably the octave melodies brought on by the guitar, mixed with the precise Sub-Pop emulated bass lines, & chilling percussional bliss on Pact With the Devil that will make you want to watch a 99+ instant queue of horror movies and put on your mothers pale white make-up as you dread on this new profound love of satanism, nothing, sex, and abandonment. One of the coolest factorials for Catholic Spit is the fact that they are a six piece, one of whom to be the famous Emma of Kent State taking on the task of playing the synthesizer which takes on powerful leads that vocals into almost a mystical void as heard in "The Devil's Pact", or producing the drop-out effect on power drenching verses/chorus's. "Zero" you'll heard the beloved wind sound as the rain drop bass line echo's with drumming that only a drummer with "chops" could bang out in such precision as seen in a beautiful renaissance era painting. Clearly Catholic Spit is a band of talent with members that are hard-working both musically and also being active with band, Chris Goodrich (2nd Guitar) started Bad Touch Records and released the I Am Your God Now 7" single and raised enough funs to finally put out their long awaited DEBUT LP! ... expect even more BIG THINGS to come quite soon from CATHOLIC SPIT." - atrashcalledtolerance. blogspot.com
ANTI-CIMEX "VICTIMS OF A BOMB RAID" 7" (NADA NADA DISCOS)
Reissue! Anti-Cimex, named after a Swedish insecticide, are one of the most influential hardcore bands to come out of Sweden in the wake of Discharge. Their noisy, high-speed take on the UKHC sound laid the foundation for the modern "Swedish sound." "Victims of a bombraid" was recorded in April 1984 and was released the same year by Anti Cinex and Malign Massacre and it was re-released by Core Horror Recordsit in 1987. "Victims..." was the follow up to "Anarkist attack"(1981) and "Raped ass" (1982)
ANTI-CIMEX "RAPED ASS" 7" (NADA NADA DISCOS)
Reissue! Anti-Cimex, named after a Swedish insecticide, are one of the most influential hardcore bands to come out of Sweden in the wake of Discharge. Their noisy, high-speed take on the UKHC sound laid the foundation for the modern "Swedish sound." Their 2nd EP from 1982!
ANTI-CIMEX "ANARKIST ATTACK" 7" (NADA NADA DISCOS)
Reissue! Anti-Cimex, named after a Swedish insecticide, are one of the most influential hardcore bands to come out of Sweden in the wake of Discharge. Their noisy, high-speed take on the UKHC sound laid the foundation for the modern "Swedish sound." "Anarkist Attack" is their debut EP from 1981!
NEIGHBORHOOD BRATS "NO SUN NO TAN" LP (DERANGED)
Compilation LP of the first three Neighborhood Brats releases: Neighborhood Brats EP, We Own the Night 7" and Ocean Beach Party 7". Also includes two unreleased studio tracks. Often described as Black Flag meets the Avengers with a Killed By Death and Dangerhouse-inspired method of attack, this is the complete recorded output of the band's first year of existence, prior to their relocation from San Francisco to Los Angeles. Helmed by vocalist Jenny Angelillo and guitarist George Rager, and featuring the Brats' original rhythm section lineup consisting of bassist Jasmine Watson and drummer Kirk Podell (both pulled simultaneous double-duty in Neo Cons).
SELFISH "LIFE HAS NO VACANT TIME" LP (FERAL WARD)
Finnish style debauchery put to vinyl. Selfish has existed since 1989. Over the years their sound has changed from raw, d-beat crust akin to Doom and Extreme Noise Terror, to skilled and intricate, Burning Spirits styled hardcore, heavily influenced by Death Side and so many other Japanese bands.
DEATHCHARGE "BAD DREAM FOREVER" LP (UNSEEN FORCES)
A golden dawnrazor for the new dark age! DEATHCHARGE returns with their second 12”. Eschewing both redundancy and the predictable pitfalls of false progression, A. Void and the funeral horde push through to strange new frontiers. Gone is the d-beat worship of their earliest incarnations as a bleak melodic dirge emerges from the rubble of the micro/macro apocalypse. Slice wide the curtain of night and watch the entrails of a bad dream spill out…forever.
ABSURDO "DEMO" 12" (DISCOS ABSURDOS)
"12" pressing of this Spanish band's absolutely killer demo tape, released for their recent US tour. Along with the Sudor and Silla Electrica LPs, this demo was one of my favorite Spanish releases of recent years. Like Sudor, Absurdo play fast, blistering, and punk-inflected hardcore with minimal distortion on the guitars. The result is really unique and mega catchy... in places it reminds me of Legless Bull-era Government Issue, but you can also hear a lot of influence from classic Spanish punk and perhaps even early Italian hardcore. Regardless, this is an absolutely brilliant recording that certainly deserves to be in vinyl, particularly with this beautiful silk-screened jacket. Highly recommended " - sorrystaterecords.com
ABSURDO "TOTS SANTS" 7" (DISCOS ABSURDOS)
After an amazing demo from last year, Barcelona's ABSURDO finally self-release their debut EP. 6 songs of ANTI DOGMATIKSS meets TEEN hardcore punk with great lyrics, attitude and fantastic artwork.
DIRTY WORK "S/T" 7" (EAT THE LIFE)
Coming at you is the debut 7” from Kansas City’s DIRTY WORK, who put out a hell of a demo tape and tour tape this past year. There is no gimmick about them, no dressing up like rockstars, or whaling on the guitar endlessly; straight USHC with misbehavior being the most driving factor for them. After listening to the recordings over and over again, the killer simplicity of NEOS came to mind. Totally raw, unmixed (sounding) recordings that capture their live sound. This is definitely not meant for adult ears!
WARSONG "RESTITUTION" 7" (NO NOSTALGIA)
Hailing from Zaragoza, Spain, WARSONG delivers a blend concocted from the best ingredients of 80s West Coast punk. They drink amply from the fountain of old Southern California punk and hardcore (think DESCENDENTS and ADOLESCENTS) while also faithfully paying homage to the melancholic and dark melodies of the WIPERS. This band includes members of INSOMNIO, revealing that their approach to punk is also firmly rooted in the Spanish classics such as RIP and ESKORBUTO. The "Restitution" 7", their US debut and third release in total, features 3 instant hits, exuding energy and catchy melody through their signature guitar leads and infectious hooks that will echo unrelentingly in your head long after the record leaves your turntable. Their perceptive lyrics reflect on frustration and alienation, contributing meaningfully to the universality of the punk ethos.
TSOL "YOU DON'T HAVE TO DIE" 7" (TKO)
This Record Store Day 2013, TKO Records and Cobraside have unearthed a forgotten punk rock rarity for you! We are very proud to offer up a slice of classic LA punk circa 1980! Side A features a previously unreleased song from a 1980 demo recordings. Side B features two T.S.O.L. classic live the Cuckoo's Nest from the Summer of 1981! To complete this stellar one of a kind record, the cover features a previously unpublished photo of the band, taken by none other than GLEN E. FRIEDMAN. Limited to a one-time pressing of 1,000 copies!
BASTARDS, THE "FUNKY BASTARD" 7" (SING SING)
The Kids (Belgium) released this single in Italy under the name 'The Bastards'. 2 classic tracks with different names / mixes from the LP (which has been bootlegged a enough times for this to be accepted as one of the best non-UK/US/Ireland bands of the first rock-n'-roll-tinged punk wave). "THIS IS ROCK AND ROLL"!!!!
SODA FRAISE "CA BAIGNE DANS L'HUILE" 7" (SING SING)
Cash in single led by French musician Didier Bottier and commissioned by the artistic director of the French label Pathe' Marconi as both an answer to the Plastic Bertrand induced faux-punk hysteria that was sweeping France and as a marketing tool for Coca-Cola! ( promotional copies of the single with an altered sleeve featuring the Coca-Cola logo exist.) The mysterious "Strawberry Soda" disbanded after only one year leaving us this extremely sought after and truly amazing French punk two sider.
JOOK "JOOK RULE" 2xLP (SING SING)
Jook came on like bastard sons of The Who and, if this first ever collection of the band's entire recorded works achieves anything, it should be to elevate the band from the Glitter Bin, and back to their rightful place as one of the greatest rock n’ roll acts ever.
ROCKIN' HORSE "YES IT IS" LP (SING SING)
Rockin' Horses' "Yes It Is" has been critically hailed as one of the true lost British power pop relics. When the late Greg Shaw (Bomp Records & Magazine) created his Voxx subsidiary, the first single he decided to reissue was Rockin' Horses' 1971 magnum opus single, "The Biggest Gossip in Town." Shaw declared that the single was the greatest power pop song of all time – heady stuff. The power pop sounds of "Yes It Is" have been favorably compared to the best of The Beatles' "Let it Be" era and Badfinger's early 1970 efforts. As an homage, the band's name was drawn from The Beatles' "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" and the album title itself from The Beatles B-side of "Ticket to Ride." Rockin' Horse was formed in 1971 by lifelong best friends Jimmy Campbell (The Kirkbys/23rd Turnoff) and Billy Kinsley (The Merseybeats/The Merseys) after the end of their respective Liverpool bands had split. Joining the Liverpool core duo were hired studio guns: Bobby Falloon (guitar), Stan Gorman (drums) and Michael Snow (keyboards). Having been schooled in the very same musical influences as the Fab Four, the end result is eerily similar to the sound the Beatles were creating at the end of their career during 1968-1970. The album was not an attempt to "ape" The Beatles' sound, but more the end product of having grown up as contemporaries of The Beatles in Liverpool and listening to the same records and playing the same circuits . How could they not end up sounding similar? Locating a copy of the original album is close to impossible and very expensive. Now you can own one of the greatest power pop recordings of all time on vinyl with its original Hipgnosis sleeve design.
WEAK LINK - DEMO 2013 TAPE
Following a few demos and their debut 7", Canada's WEAK LINK deliver some new tracks as a teaser to an upcoming LP (with a track exclusive to this tape). Pissed off hardcore ... some hard slow/mid tempo slam jams for pitting mixed with some straight up ragers that bring to mind a pissed off posi-core vibe that was pretty popular in the late 90's (bands like RANCOR, ATARI, etc) ... some of these tracks would be right at home on the "Growing Stronger" or "The Time is Now" comps ... You can peep the tracks at http://weaklink.bandcamp.com/ album/lp-promo-tape
ATTITUDE ERA TAPE
This Philly group brings a new name to fastcore. While they are completely LARM obsessed, their music captures a little bit of what HC sounded/looked like in the mid 2000's. Short, fast, and to the point; while still having enough time to bang your head. I promise that these four songs will be over before you even get a chance to sit down. Not to be missed!
