WHAT'S NEW FOR 2/7/2014:
http://www.gravemistakerecords.com/catalog/products_new.php

Keeping the sick new records (and some old favorites) stocked up for 2014!  As I mentioned in my last update, I'm adding new titles to the webstore a bit more frequently now, so I strongly urge you to keep an eye on the Grave Mistake Facebook and Tumblr pages! I promise you I'm not trying to fish for internet friends, I'm just looking out for your best interests!  Some of the new titles I've gotten in recently have sold out before I get a chance to fire off my update email, so keeping an eye on my posts is the best way to get first crack at the new stock.

A brief update this week, picked up the new LP from LOS MONJO, the brand new RITUAL CONTROL 7", some recent LVEUM titles including the ARCHAIC 7" and DHK LP;  a couple of new 7"s on HARDCORE VICTIM including the FORWARD / TEARGAS split 7" and HAVITTAJAT 7" (also restocked on the first KROMOSOM LP as well).  Grabbed copies of the ALERTA! 7", finally got some of the SECT LP, a few copies of the FUNERAL PARADE 12" that was just released; picked up copies of two rad singles from MI's CHIT CHAT, their brand new "Never Know" EP as well as their first single; got a few copies of the GAUCHO demo, new band from Toronto featuring members of S.H.I.T. that you should definitely check out!

Stocked up on some of the newest titles from TRIPLE B RECORDS including the awesome new 7" from RVA's own FRIEND OR FOE, the DEMOLITION and OUR SIDE 7"s, and restocked in the ripping DNA 7" (who will be doing a new EP this year on GRAVE MISTAKE)!  Copies of the POWER TRIP "Armageddon Blues Sessions" 12" are en route to GMHQ, but unfortunately didn't show up in time for today's update so stay tuned and pick up their "Manifest Decimation" LP to tide you over (one of my favorite LPs from last year).

And of course what would a proper update be without some reissues? Finally grabbed copies of the first two 4 SKINS LPs, "The Good, The Bad, & The 4 Skins" and "A Fistful of 4 Skins" reissues; picked up some copies of THE MOB "Let the Tribe Increase" LP, as well as the two BOSKOPS LPs and the SORTO 7". Oh, and don't forget the NO COMMENT "Live on KXLU 1992" 7"!

Finally, some long overdue restocks on some great records like the HOAX LP, the BLITZ "Voice of a Generation" LP and "Early Singles Collection" LP, DISCHARGE "Why" LP, SIEGE "Drop Dead" LP, CRAZY SPIRIT "I'm Dead" 7", GENERACION SUICIDA LP (and tape version), NEIGHBORHOOD BRATS "No Sun No Tan" singles LP, RAPID LOSS LP, and more!

NEW IN THE WEBSTORE FOR 02.07.14:

LOS MONJO "LA VIDA QUE TODOS ENVIDIAN" LP (DISCOS MMM)
Los Monjo are here to take over the world with their signature brand of raw power. From the Oblatos hood of Guadalajara to the alleyways of Barcelona, Los Monjo are known for their explosive live shows and classic sound. Frontman Tucho Monjo's vitriol and swagger harkens back to the days of true performers like Iggy Pop. Lyrics are penned from the school of Eskorbuto, RIP, and MCD, sincere yet venomous. Peter Monjo's guitar licks ignite, propelled by Rene and Cesar Monjo's rolling backbeat. After three 7"s and two splits, Los Monjo deliver their debut full length, a masterful LP, effortlessly executed. These are anthems for generations to come. La mejor banda de Rock Basura del mundo! Europe press on Trabuc Records.

RITUAL CONTROL "NO AFFINITY" 7" (RESIDUE)
Blaring out of the Bay Area comes the harsh sounds of RITUAL CONTROL first EP. 4 songs of blistering female fronted hardcore with members of every band you know you love (CONDITION, NO STATIK, EFFLUXUS). RITUAL CONTROL rips through your throat with a fast aggression and dark sound that reminds me of INITIAL STATE with intense breakdowns. Songs like “Hollow on the Inside” and “Entitlement” will leave you hurting.

FUNERAL PARADE "S/T" LP (MATA LA MUSICA)
In 2010 Funeral Parade released  their only recordings on a limited tape release and later 1 of those songs appeared on a PDX 7” comp. Comprised of band members from Ripper, Nerveskade and Bog People this awesome PDX outfit was short lived and only played a handful of live shows. Lucky for the rest of us they left behind some really good and important recordings on that tape and these tracks had to come to life on vinyl. These tracks were some of the first recordings completed at Buzz or Howl Studios by Stan Wright in Portland, OR.  With influences like Part 1, Vex and UK Decay these recordings were perhaps one the best examples of modern deathrock/post punk that I've heard in the last couple of years. Make sure you get your copy of this 12” before they sell out, this is a 1 time press so don’t sleep on it.

ARCHAIC "NOISE IN YOUR HEAD" 7" (LA VIDA ES UN MUS)
ARCHAIC is a new project based between Berlin, Venice and Barcelona. This debut three track EP is a rusted nail of intense hardcore with industrial undertones which sits somewhere between FOGNA and DESTINO FINAL but with a bigger production. Guitar layers of repetition create a bed of noise when the delay infected vocals lay painfully. Someone called it the NWOIH and I won't be the one saying that isn't the case.

DHK "LA KRUDEZA NO MUERE" LP (LA VIDA ES UN MUS)
DHK (Destruccion, Hurto y Kaos) from Lima, Peru, recorded some demos which I regard as the pinnacle of Raw Punk from last few years. The adjective Raw doesn't apply here in the same way people understand Punk in 2013. D.H.K. don't hide their lack of songs behind layers of feedback, black and white images of dead bodies and clique "crusty" clothes. Instead they scream loud and clear against system, the state, the apathy and the conformism. Their music is raw, heavily influenced by DISCHARGE, the nordic beat and drawing comparisons with the greatest DESTRUCCION from Arnedo. The sleeve artwork created by Teodoro Hernandez portraits perfectly D.H.K.'s insurrectionists spirit.

HAVITTAJAT "S/T" 7" (HARDCORE VICTIM)
Havittajat present four tracks of raging, Finland 82 Apara hardcore via Melbourne, Australia. Ex-members of Kirottu, Kromosom and Leprosy.

FORWARD / TEARGAS - SPLIT 7" (HARDCORE VICTIM)
Burning Spirits international split! Both bands deliver their best work to date!  Fist pumping, guitar blazing, high octane Japanese/ Australian hardcore!

ALERTA! "S/T" 7" (DISCOS ENFERMOS)
First release on vinyl after the demo released this same year (2013). 5 songs from the same recording session of the demo and including one of the songs allready included on the demo. Raw and fast punk hardcore clearly influenced by spanish hardcore bands from the 80s like SUBTERRANEAN KIDS, GRB, HHH or L'ODI SOCIAL as same way as italian 80s hardcore bands like IMPACT, EUS'ARSE, INDIGESTI or WRETCHED. Songs talking about daily routine, about suviving to daily shit, about burning barcelona and shitty people we have to deal day by day. The cover art is made by ALEXANDER HEIR (http://alexanderheir.tumblr.com/) on B/N close jacket with insert with lyrics and infos. First press of 500 copies in cooperation with TRABUC RECORDS.

SECT "S/T" LP (DISCOS ENFERMOS)
Great debut of this international band (poland/venezuela) but based in barcelona. The 10 songs on this lp are pure hits! Mixing perfectly the sound of the english 80s punk on his most anarchopunk way like FLUX OF PINK INDIANS mixed with the most dark sound of those years like THE MOB or KILLING JOKE but basically based on the uk80s anarchopunk. Female vocals reming me to bands like THE EXPELLED or ACTION PACT a lot, totally well completed with a second male vocal in some songs. Totally sharp and catchy guitars full of reverb and really great punk ritmic base totally with uk80s taste. Delux release on black and withe with 350gr jacket and printed 280gr inner sleeve all printed in the reverse side.

DOSES "S/T" LP (GOING UNDERGROUND)
Like a brick of firecrackers taped to the neighbors dog, a mirror covered in dried pus from inflamed pimples, to the paper cut under your index finger, DOSES is an assault on all senses that make pleasurable life miserable. DOSES consist of Kristopher Kirk (Dylan Geiger) & John Gaston (Quin Jostens). DOSES has been a physical manifestation for a year and three months. Consisting of Guitar, Bass, and Drum Machine, DOSES continue to leave audiences in a blur and self doubt as they power through their set of anxiety ridden songs. DOSES draw influences from such acts as The Jesus Lizard, Ministry, Big Black and Kanye West. DOSES are funded by 林淫蟲, a Chinese financial backer who funds DOSES in all of their endeavors. BOUND.

GAUCHO - DEMO TAPE
Raging demo from this new TORONTO band featuring members of S.H.I.T.

CHIT CHAT "NEVER KNOW" 7" (PRTYNGG)
With their debut 7", Chit Chat quickly positioned themselves as one of Michigan's most exciting bands. (Their live shows kill, too.) Now they're back with a new 7", which doesn't exactly have the high-flying Raw Power assault of "Attitude" but instead opts for a slower burn. There's a simmering, sludgy low end provided by Joel Parkkila in "Down", and Kevin McKay's slow-but-crashing pace leaves the band plenty of space to rip. They might be going for a more sprawling sound, but Nick Melody's guitar solos are still incredible and Izzy Johnson's raspy vocals roar with assertive badassery. There are just three songs here, but this 7" is an entirely cohesive statement. It's tempting to wonder what this band will be like in album mode.

CHIT CHAT "UNTITLED" 7" (PRTYNGG)
Debut 7" from Michigan dreamboats. Smart, sharp airy garage sounds. Instantly hooked by surf influenced reverb drenched guitars and '60s garage psych by way of '80s female fronted indie bands.

REPOS, THE "LIVE MUNITIONS" LP (YOUTH ATTACK)
One of the most prolific and influential hardcore bands of our generation is finally captured live with this fourteen song assault recorded in Chicago during a private performance on the west side. This LP contains all their best classics like “Attack From All Sides,” “Lowlife Legion,” and “Voice In My Head,” delivered in a non-stop, three-chord barrage under a tornado of growls by a lunatic frontman. Mixed and mastered by Will Killingsworth at Dead Air Studios for optimal ferocity, making it almost seem like you were there bashing in faces too.

FRIEND OR FOE "OUTSIDER" 7" (TRIPLE B)
Featuring members of Fire & Ice and Bracewar, Friend Or Foe play Agnostic Front-worship hardcore that's sure to make any fan of NYHC psyched. "Outsider" features five new songs and shows that Richmond, VA hardcore is alive and well.

DEMOLITION "WORLD GONE MAD" 7" (TRIPLE B)
Barrie, Ontario, Canada is known for being home to hardcore heroes Demolition. Demolition hits hard with their debut 7", "World Gone Mad." Recorded by Jonah Falco from Fucked Up, "World Gone Mad" features six songs of in-your-face NYHC.

OUR SIDE "BACK TO REALITY" 7" (TRIPLE B)
Boston, MA's newest and youngest band Our Side come out of the gates with their debut 7". Six tracks of no frills, late-'80s inspired New York hardcore. For fans of Agnostic Front, The Rival Mob, Free Spirit and Waste Management.

NO COMMENT "LIVE ON KXLU 1992" 7" (DEEP SIX)
Along with other powerviolence bands such as CROSSED OUT, CAPITALIST CASUALTIES and MAN IS THE BASTARD, NO COMMENT were influential in what was known to become the  “West Coast powerviolence” scene for their aggressive musical and conceptual take on the hardcore punk genre.

4 SKINS "THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE 4 SKINS" LP (RADIATION)
The Good, The Bad & The 4-Skins is the debut LP - originally released on Secret Records in 1982 - from East End Oi! legends The 4-Skins. Recorded with the first stable line-up after mumerous changes, fronted by legendary vocalist Panther (who stepped in after the original singer Gary Hodges' defection), this is violent, political, and as real as Oi! gets, this is one of the absolute classic LPs of the genre. Featuring studio recordings on Side A and amped up live versions of such OI! classics as "A.C.A.B" or "Chaos" on Side B, the album remains a coherent punk masterwork, which also happens to include - in the first song of the LP, 'Plastic Gangsters' - one of the best British 2-tone ska tracks of all-time, composed and sung by 4 Skins' original drummer Gary Hitchcock. A classic LP reissued for a new generation of skins and punk/Oi! fans of all stripes.

4 SKINS "A FISTFUL OF 4 SKINS" LP (RADIATION)
Hailing from London's working class East End, The 4-Skins formed in 1979 at the very onset of Oi! music. By the time this, their 2nd full length, was released in 1983 by the Syndicate Records label, the group had gone through numerous line-up changes and were now sporting a heavier, more melodic, hard rock-based sound fronted by ex-Last Resort vocalist, Roi Pearce. One of the hardest hitting punk albums of the ྌs A Fistful Of 4-Skins is reissued here on LP with 2 tracks ("On The Streets" from the 'Son Of Oi!' compilation and a demo version of 'Saturday') added as bonus!

MOB, THE "LET THE TRIBE INCREASE" LP (OVERGROUND)
In many ways The Mob were the archetypal anarcho punk band. Formed in Yeovil, Somerset in 1979 the band soon spent their time permanently on the road in a convoy of trucks before squatting in Brougham Road, Hackney – a street of houses that accommodated many punk and counter-culture types. Until their demise in 1983 they remained an integral part and a huge influence on the anarcho, traveller and free festival scenes.  Their first release was the 1980 Crying Again single on their own All The Madmen label, followed later that year by the Ching cassette. 1981 saw another single the hugely popular and haunting Witch Hunt soon followed by their now legendary Crass single No Doves Fly Here, both taking anarcho punk into new musically unchartered waters. 1983 saw the release of their now legendary album Let The Tribe Increase, an album that saw them moving away from the constraints of the punk sound as they continued to push the musical boundaries. This trend continued in their epic single The Mirror Breaks. The Mob’s involvement with the counterculture saw them playing gigs with archetypal hippies Here & Now and Androids of Mu as well as being actively involved in the Persons Unknown and Centro Iberico anarchist centres and the Black Sheep Housing Co-operative.  Let The Tribe Increase includes the full album, both tracks from the Mirror Breaks 7″ and a previously unheard demo version of Stay, all professionally remastered. Packaged in a 12-page booklet it contains a band history and the events that surrounded the recording of the album by Kill Your Pet Puppy fanzine editor Alistair Livingston.

BOSKOPS "SOL 12" LP (FAREWELL)
Out of the ashes of the band Blitzkrieg from Hannover, northern Germany, the Boskops were formed sometime between 1982 and 1983. The Boskops were one of the most important bands in their region, alongside other bands like Blut + Eisen, the Cretins or Daily Terror.  The original line-up consisted of two guitarists (one male, one female), a bassplayer, a vocalist and a drummer. The band's name was perhaps taken from an apple species that is sold all over Germany. The fruit is sometimes really bitter but I don't know exactly if this was the inspiration for the band's name.  Due to the Boskops' two guitar players and a vocalist with a roaring strong voice, their first LP, Sol 12, stands as a good stylistic example of what later become known as "Thrashpunk" - less instrumental proficiency but raw highspeed energy and sonic brutality.  This is an officical re-press which comes with a 24-pages booklet and a huge poster. Classic!

BOSKOPS "LAUSCHGIFT" LP (FAREWELL)
Out of the ashes of the band BLITZKRIEG from Hannover, northern Germany, the Boskops were formed in 1982. The Boskops were one of the most important german bands, alongside other bands like BLUT & EISEN, TOXOPLASMA or SLIME! In 1985 Mülleimer Records released their 2nd LP "Lauschgift". The original line-up consisted of two guitarists (one male, one female), a bassplayer, a vocalist and a drummer. Like their 1st LP "Sol12" their 2nd release "Lauschgift stands as a good stylistic example of what later become known as "Thrashpunk" - less instrumental proficiency but raw highspeed energy and sonic brutality. This is an officical re-press which comes with lyric-sheet and sticker. Classic!

SORTO "1984-1986" 7" (POWER IT UP)
Back in print, very raw and chaotic fast hardcore from Mid 1980s Finland. Contains the tracks from the ultra rare ep and a demo.

NEIGHBORHOOD LIFE - ISSUE #1 ZINE
First issue of this hardcore punk fanzine from D.C. I must say, it is incredibly refreshing to see a new, music-focused zine from D.C. Neighborhood Life kicks things off with a short 2013 recap and some 2014 hopes. Moving on, some writing about MENTAL's "Planet Mental", an ode to the now-defunct BLOODKROW BUTCHER, coverage of THE MOB (UK), and a few other small pieces. Best thing about Neighborhood Life is that the enthusiasm here is turned up to ten. If you've ever met the editor, Ambrose, you'll see that his personality really shines through in the writing behind Neighborhood Life. Hope to see more from this upstart zine!
